Thread: Mirror Teleport Question?

Had a lucid this morning. Decided to mirror teleport to visit the moon and look back at the earth. Something I've been wanting to do since I started.

Found a big mirror in the house. There were people floating about it it.
I could call up friends or movie stars or characters from books and they would fly up like ghosts.

Anyhow I put my hand in it, and it rippled star gate style. I then stepped into it. But all I say was just black/grey nothing.

Decided to back out of the mirror. The room slowly reconstructed around me.

So what am I doing wrong? Any Ideas?

I think I read about someone having a similar experience on another thread. Is it a common failure. Or did it just happen that way because I read about it?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hmmm, never tried that. Maybe you just didn't believe enough in the mirror? Anyways, try something else if that doesn't work, like a rocket, or the stargate in your basement (or closet). Everyone has one of those in a dream, you just have to believe it. The logic sector of your brain is shut down during a dream, so emotions, feelings, and beliefs become extremely strong and powerful. If you don't believe completely or have ANY doubts at all, then it will fail 75% of the time.

I wouldn't say I was a natural. Thoughs of lucid dreaming have been at the back of my mind for the last month. Its just a bit dissapointing that I'm not doing reality checks.
I do do them in a way, cos each and every time I realise its because I suddenly understood that something didn't quite make sense. Though why I don't come to this realisation whilst being chased by zombies is beyond me! I will need to keep trying.


Anyhow I read on another thread about shutting a door and saying when you open it it will lead to X works.

Seems a far better idea than hunting about for magic doors around corners or findimg full height mirrors. A much more direct route avoiding wasting time or distractions.

If I was really clever i would just use my hand to cut a door through into another dream (now theres a thought).

Just had another thought. When I walked into the mirror it was black on the outside. So maybe is should be no surprised that it was a void inside. Maybe I should have "expected" to see the landscape beyond before I stepped through.
