      New to dreaming lucidly

Firstly I would like to apologize if this thread mis-placed. Then, my quesion:

Is it pointless to try to WILD if my dream recall is rather bad?

Is my dream recall bad if I, almost always, can remember oneofn my dreams during the night? Keep in mind that I've not set an alarm clock to wake me up every 90-100 minutes.

      Thanks in advance,
      Compaq

Actually, remembering one dream a night is fairly good recall from what I've read. You'd be surprised at how many people rarely remember their dreams.

In lucid dreaming, there really is no "pointless," because everything takes work to achieve, and everybody; excluding extremely rare circumstances such as mental disorders; can lucid dream. It's all about finding the method that works for you, but you can still do them all if you worked at them. Dream recall can also be worked at. When I was little, I thought that I didn't have the ability to dream, because I didn't remember a dream in 5 years! I now remember them every night so if I can get good recall, anyone can. Just takes alot of hard work to do.

      Hi,

I have found that there is a big difference between remembering 'normal' dreams and remembering lucid dreams. I have found that once you become lucid, the memories seem to be stored similarly to normal daytime experiences. This is probably due to actually being conscious within the dream.

Even if your dream recall is not good, you will more than likely recall your lucid dreams quite easily.

      I agree with Dash.
I used to go through long periods when I would swear I never dreamed.
But now I remember at least one a night.
Though sometimes they are sooooooooooo boring.

The important thing to do is ask yourself what you were dreaming about everytime you wake up.

I often wake up with no idea I'd just dreamt. So easy to forget.
But with a wee bit of focus it comes back to me.
Once you remember the end of the dream, you can work backwards to piece it together.
