I see no use in trying to interpret dreams. They happen just like waking reality does. Maybe things mean something, maybe they don't. You can interpret anything into everything. One perception can easily be interpreted in strongly contradicting ways without flaw. There's no true meaning, just like there's no truth at all. There only are opinions.
My dreams are very real and vivid too and that makes it hard to become lucid... or so I thought. The more I analyze them, the more dream signs become blatantly obvious.
Some time ago I only wrote down dreams that seemed interesting or important to me in my dream journal. That was a mistake. You need to write down every dream, no matter how unimportant they seem. The dreams that are special seem so, because something extraordinary happens. But if you want to find your dream signs, it's the regular and mundane dreams that will disclose them.
Finding and training yourself to recognize dream signs should be a promising way to realize that you are dreaming, no matter how vivid your dreams seem. There is always something that can give them away. At least that is what I think.
