LDing for a long while and still suck

My lucids are BORING! It's always the same thing. Here's the short version: I use sp to gain lucidity, the dream always starts out in the bedroom. I always have to walk outside of my house and outside there is nothing more than my neighborhood. Then I start flying somewhere and everything fades away and I'm right back in my bed with sp again. It's just over and over and over. Most times my mind is racing so fast I can hardly remember to do any of the stuff I wanted to, and even when I do it all just fades away anyways. It's like my mind is fighting being lucid. I can't do anything cool, but fly and even then it seems more like warping than flying. One of my first ld's were way cooler. They say you get better, but I don't see it.
Another thing that is sort of not related to that, when I get sp there's always that scary presence like normal, but I never really see it. Then when I gain lucidity and I'm in my bedroom there's always a black dog sitting there.Again, this happens 99% of the time. It's the freakiest thing. It's like it's waiting to do something. This morning when I got sp it felt like a dog was at my head and digging at the matress. When I became lucid I saw the black dog as I always do, but this time I beat the crap out of it and it started turning into a puppy. Then I went on about my usual boring lucids. It's the weirdest thing. I remeber only seeing an evil presence a couple times in all my LD's and the first time I saw this one it changed from some demon looking thing into this same black dog after I became lucid. Ever since I've just seen the stupid black dog. What does it want and what could it mean?

hmm. . . Maybe instead of flying away straight away you could concentrate on your surroundings. I found that glancing around and trying to maintain a particular dream scene even if it is boring is actually a wonderful way to create vivid dream spaces. Also by concentrating on something very small like a blade of grass outside your house or a flower and trying to analize and explore it, seeing how small you can go into it.

You've prob heard this one but sometimes rubbing your hands together can help vibrancy?

I have also experienced weird presences. For a while i had frequent lucid dreams in which i felt a very heavy, very intense presence and it frightened me more than anything i have ever been frightened of before. A few times i tried to talk to it but it wouldn't communicate in a way i was familiar and so i fought it off out of fear and then my lucids stopped and my dreams became very normal and boring. So i really don't know. But maybe you could try communicating with it?
