      very frustrating

I had my second LD two nights ago and the circumstances of the dream were very frustrating. I was walking with two other people above a decent sized canyon (or ravine I guess) in some tropical place. Anyways the next thing I knew, I was at the bottom of the ravine and I became lucid.

Ever since my first lucid which involved gunning down a few people, I've been wanting to jump off a very high place just to see what would happen. As my legs were weightless I hovered just above ground to try and find somewhere high to jump off of. The best thing I could find was a rock formation about five feet off the ground and just as I looked down in disappointment my dream ended. I just wish I became lucid earlier in the dream when I was at the top.

Any suggestions on what I should try next time?

      Good job!

Doing a specific goal can be frusterating in dreams. I suggest that you focus on wanting to jump off of a high place in your next lucid. Then next time take a moment or two to just look around. Notice how clear and realistic the dream is. Then persue your goal. I've jumped off of buildings, out of trees, cliffs, hot-air balloons, and other stuff, to give you some ideas.

It sounds like you lossed lucidity because you were expecting a higher fall, but only jumped from 5ft. Am I wrong?

He lost lucidity when he was standing on the rock. He was just saying it was too bad he didn't become lucid a bit earlier when he was walking along the ravine.

Oh jumping from high places... One of my favorite things to do.
I hope you get to try it soon.

I guess you will just have to find the right dream to try it on. Maybe if there are any buildings around next time, you can climb to the top and jump off. I've done that quite a few times. Climbing buildings is always fun too. Cliffs are the best though if you happen to be near one.

Or a lot of times I won't even look for something to jump off of. I'll fly high into the sky, then completely relax and lean backwards into an end over end tumbling free fall. Now that's the best.

I completely agree that the feeling of falling -- just letting yourself all out fall -- is even cooler than the feeling of flight in a dream! So exhilerating!!

Have you ever tried falling backwards off something, without looking at the drop below?

The first time I ever free fell, I did that off the roof of a skyscraper. It was an experience I'll never forget.

      Oh Mm Gee..

That is the best idea evar. I'm definitely doing that with a parachute base jumping tonight. Or take a dirtbike off a cliff with a parachute.

I've gotten Lucid while on a dirt bike a couple of times, it's cool.

But what do you need a parachute for? Unless your going to do it in the waking world that is.

HAha! Well I'm not going to do it with a db irl, so I might as well get to feel what it's like. I've got this weird paranioa in LDs that if it's not realistic enough to my standards, it won't work? lol
