Since I get lucid with out doing a reality checks or by any other means I usually do a few reality check just to make sure and to see what they look like when they fail. |

Last night i had a dream which i think was my first lucid dream but i am not sure. It involved jumping very high and over a random person and i remember thinking that i was having a dream, which is why i jumped over him but I dont remember becoming lucid at any specific point and I did nothing abnormal in an attempt to induce a lucid dream. |

chances are if you werent sure if you were lucid or not, you werent lucid. |

Our dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity.
I remember thinking "im having a dream!" before promptly jumping over someone but I dont remember consciously thinking "hmm im dreaming what should I do?" or anything similar. The whole scene didnt last very long and i didnt remember having the dream until sometime later. Are there ways of confirming lucidity after waking up, or do you just "know" you had a lucid dream the night before? Do you remember making concious decisions in a lucid dream in the same way you would make decisions in waking life? |

It sounds to me like you had a moment of partial Lucidity. There are different levels of Lucidity. When you get a full blown Lucid, you won't have to wonder if you were or not, It will be pretty obvious to you. |

Let me know if you figure it out. I always am able to make decisions in my dreams, and I am aware I am dreaming. I just accept it as reality and don't question it. I can't think that hard while partially lucid and that's what effs me over. I have a feeling it's going to be hard to get over the hump, but when I do it will be nonstop LDs. |

Remember, you don't have to control anything in the dream to be lucid. All you have to do is realize that you were dreaming. It sounds like you had a lucid dream, one I would consider "low level". Can you remember why you wanted to jump over that person? |

Well i was thinking about lucid dreaming alot and thought that if i ever had one that id like to do something impossible like jumping really high or flying or whatever. I dont remember making the decisions to do things and i had no control over what i was doing for the duration of the dream (as much as i remember) so i dont think it was what could be classified as a 'real' lucid dream. Perhaps I was partially lucid but I think I'll know when I have a real one. Thanks for the help. |

Yeah the definition of being lucid is just being aware while in the dream. My most recent dream closest to full lucidity was when I had to balance while wheeling a dirt bike. I think that if I would have stayed wheeling it's possible I might have gone full out lucid. I don't know, even when I'm conscious of my dream signs I still never stop to think about it in my dreams. I don't like it. |

sounds to me like what i call "lucid moments" cause there are times when i wake up and vaguely remember becoming lucid during the night, and im sure it happened, but i hadnt woken up and written it down fast enough to really remember. or ill just lose lucidity or wake up too fast. so, i don't count these as "lucid dreams" but i acknowledge that i had a "lucid moment", and even that is progress, so it keeps me happy=) |

Whenever I have the slightest feeling that I'm lucid, I pinch my nose and try to breath through it. If you can breathe...obviously you've exited reality |

well it seams like I do a lot of RC's durring the day time, but even if I were to talk to billy goat gruff in my dream I wouldn't even do an RC. I just never question reality in my dreams. I've even tried telling myself going to sleep that I'm going to dream, blah blah blah |
