Thread: No Hypnogogic Imagery

Hey people,

I've read all these cool methods about using Hypnogogic Imagery–like the fast grab–but I've never had HI. Is there something that I can do to make it so I have HI? I know this may sound weird but it's true. When everybody took tests in school about what type of learner they are, I was like extreme textual, do you think that might have anything to do with it?

Besides HI there is also HH (hypnagogic hallucination). This includes sounds, sensations, smells, tastes, and all of that. HH is the same as HI, it just is a broader term and includes the imagery as well as all of the other senses. I've had some HH that was purely sound, some that was just smell, etc. So if you don't have the imagery, then you should have some other kind of HH. You can use them the same as HI.

I don't really see anything either, and I'm a text learner like you. But I do seem to have conversations with someone (myself lol) while I'm trying to WILD, and even when I'm not trying to WILD... I rarely realize that I'm having these conversations, but they're usually of philosophical nature.

I'm guessing this isn't exactly uncommon but I haven't seen anything about it. Is this like the poor mans HI?

I'm very visual and I rarely get HI. When I do, it's just like I can see a huge photograph or a snapshot of a dream, nothing besides that I just don't use any of those techniques, and I can still get lucid. So I may not be using 'cool' visualization techniques, but hey, at least I can still lucid dream
