Trying to lucid dream alot harder than i thought.

Ok so im completly new to this hole thing and i've had dreams where i've realised im dreaming but not actually knew i could do anything, once i did i could fly, i thought i was awake, infact the next day i ran and jumped off the ground again to see if i could fly (FAILED ) but anyways last night i went to sleep (im also a late sleeper, 5-6 am i go to bed, wake up about 6PM lol!)

but i had about 6 dreams, 2 of them we're vivid, and i was so close to doing reality checks but i didnt, i woke up remembering one of them, then after abotu 10 minutes i rememberd the second one, and both of them i had dream signs, the first dream sign i was in a stadium in an elevator, and the elevator Lagged (Really slow) so i could have done a reality check then
The second was outside my front door with a friend i sold my bycicle to, i looked at his, then noticed it was inside my house still aswell, so then i could have done a reality check, is there any way of improving the reality checks? and dream recall a bit better? thanks

Just stick with it... it will come eventually. Also, do you think if will be easier or harder to have a lucid dream if you tell yourself you can't lucid dream?

The thing you need to improve isn't necessarily your reality checks, it's your awareness level (in real life) this will lead you to more reality checks in your dreams. READ

Xantox is right just try to use all your senses through out the day and always keep aware of what you doing. Try not to go on auto pilot. If you do this all day you chance of a lucid will go up dramatically.

Your both right, i am actually on auto pilot alot i think by starting to raise my awareness levels i will also start to gain some of my conciousness in real life, im not the brightest person, i day dream alot, but im also a hyper shouty loud kinda person lol, but the problem is, sometimes my dreams are so abnormal you wouldnt believe but by the stuff i do day by day i kinda live an abnormal life, like today

in my dreams id be doing wierd shit, (im 17 btw still a kid n hyper lol)
an i was on the bus an i shouted at my loudest 'NA NA NAYYYYY' an put the shits up all the old people, but this is the kinda stuff i dream about too, gettin chased by things crawling on the ceiling and getting my head chopped off in my dream and still dreaming, its kinda wierd P.S you'll need to teach me about PERFECT CLARITY i really would like that for my lucids.

an i wana be adopted! adopt me haha

It's really annoying when doesn't feel like you're making progress, i had a false awakening about 2 months ago and since then nothing.
I'm trying a subliminal message type thing and that seems to be increasing the clarity of the dreams, but so far no lucids.

It sounds like you're doing okay, just it up and keep up the positivity (cos it really is worth it, when you have a really intense LD)

      As to specific help though:
      Dream Recall
Are you keeping a journal? It's more important than it might seem, but give it a few more days to really kick into effect.
Are you following the advice found in the tutorials about dream recall? (e.g. not jumping up as soon as you wake up, but lying there working through the feelings/memories)

      Reality Checks
You say that dream signs happened, but you didn't do the checks... why? didn't you notice the dream sign, or did you just forget the checks?
If you're forgetting the dream sign, that just takes a few more days to engrain into your habits
If you're forgetting the reality checks, just make sure you always do them in waking life when you're practicing your dream sign (or just checking reality)
It'll also become habit and easy to remember soon enough

Also - make sure you have at least 2, preferably 3, reality checks. Some work better than others, and what works for me might not work for you.
Always do at least 2 checks, not just one.

All this is actually really easy but we make it hard for ourselves. You need to be a little more patient. Let what you've learnt sink in well and it'll come

Yes, i had an FA the other day, held my nose and breathed through it but for some strange reason i didnt believe it because it felt as if i didnt have my fingers over my nose so it was as if i wasnt holding it properly or something, but i noticed every other time i do i really cant breath no mater how loose or tight i grip my nose. so i then put my fingers through my palms which didnt work, so i then thought i was awake an went back to sleep...
i will st art using the light switch reality check

also i wanted to know.... letters in dreams change.. what about tattoo's? i have a tattoo on my right forearm saying Haytch. and i was wondering if i looked at it and looked away in my dreams would it work?? or stay the same because im used to seeing it that much.. anyways. if so i will get another tattoo on my other forearm saying dream because the simple fact after a few weeks of having the tattoo' its allways in site just a little bit where your eye would catch it , and where your used to seeing it that much you dont bother to look anymore.... ALSO.. SORRY LOL

THIS DREAM I HAD.... ANY IDEAS?

Ok. So my dream started off where i was in a police car in an urban city (olden grunge rundown). It was like ive been there before like in another life time or something it felt so real that i forgot to reality check. (i've came to the conclusion i was in a past life replay). anyways it looked a bit like NY City (even though ive never been there). But it was like a big ass Downhill thing like i couldnt even explain, i'd have to draw it to show you. so i will do so and scan it and attach the picture but anyways story: i was being chased, which was wierd because i was a cop??, and i was like driving down these roads and jumping as if i was like jumping of a ramp onto the road, and then i went down these stairs to go to like an underground train but it was blocked, there was just a wall, so i turned around to go back up and i couldnt see for a second and when i did again i was in a motor bike riding back up the stairs an some woman was like flying or driving or something towards me (wasnt very vivid) and i got outa there, jumped over her on the bike then riden down more and next thing i was back in a police car with a few other guys and girls (police officers too) in the car with me and we pulled up to this brick-like power station and next thing i know im in my sisters boyfriends house on my birthday and i was leaving and she said hold on, and gave me a birthday present (which was a bag of giant ice cherios lol) yep, giant ice cherios, thats when i thought to myself am i dreaming? as i pulled a cherio out of the bag i think the shock must have given me an FA because i woke up, but i held my nose and breathed through it and i still was able to. but for some reason i didnt accept this because i also tryed to put my fingers through my palm and it didnt work, or maybe it did? but i didnt see it because of disbeleif.
Then i woke up to try the nose thing again which didnt work.

IVE ALSO COME TO THE CONCLUSION EVERYTIME I GET A DREAM SIGN IT IS SOMETHING UNUSUAL HAPPANING WHILST BEING CHASED LOL.

      .
About the dream It sounds like you were really close.

The tattoo thing i think has some potential but since you see it every day it might stay the same.
I've heard of people thinking of getting a dream sign or reality check tattoo But I've never heard of any one actually doing it. If you do you'll have way more commitment to this than me.

Yep, the trouble with the tattoo thing is that the effect doesn't last forever, but the tattoo does
