      First Experiences

Well, I read about LDing about a year ago but never really got into it, but I came across it a few days ago and decided to give it a shot. My first time trying it, 2 nights ago, I attempted a WILD right when I first went to sleep (I have had a number of failures with WILDing after sleeping a few hours, but I've tried these past few mornings because I always wake up at 3:00am anyway). Interestingly enough, I was able to get to a hypnagogic state where geometric patterns were expanding and contracting. I noticed I got really excited at that point, so I tried to calm down, but the images faded away leaving me laying there. Any recommendations as to what I could do differently? My anchor for WILDing is controlling my breathing, btw.

      Welcome, btw!

It is pretty common to get stuck at the SP/HH state during WILD. The tutorial has some info on getting past this stage. It is important to just try to be calm and let it happen. Good luck!

I've yet to WILD, but I feel I'm getting closer.
All of the guidance says you need to passively observe the HI.

I had problems with my initial WILDs, everytime I say HI "mini-dreams" I would snap out of them as soon as I realised.

Not sure whats changed, but lately I seem to be able to just watch them without getting to involved.
