What's this called and what does it mean?

I have these dreams that I feel like I've had before a million times. Sometimes inside the dream I have the familiarity, other times it's upon waking and thinking about it.

But... usually I can't recall times where I previously analyzed it, (that dream instance.) These deja-vu dreams are the first times I've thought of them.

This makes me think that they are not true recurring dreams. Especially since I have dreams where I get this very distinct feeling so often.

Do we dream teh same dreams over and over again alot or just sometimes?

And what does this imply or mean?

You know, I've found myself doing the same thing too. Maybe, it could be where we don't actually recall the dream right when we wake up but later on when you dream about it again that it reminds you...hey, i've dreamed this before.

Sometimes I won't remember a dream right when I wake up, but later in the day I'll see something that triggers that memory and say HEY, I HAD A DREAM ABOUT THAT LAST NIGHT!

and maybe an idea is that if it is a reoccuring theme, then it could be a dreamsign. Idk, just a couple of thoughts!

The most logical explanation is that you are experiencing DejaVu on a rather large scale. Yes, it is quite common to dream that you have experienced something before, or you have seen something before, or been somewhere before.

However, you must realise that while you are dreaming you are in a altered state of consciousness thus you are not fully able to think clearly. So in thinking that you have experienced an event before you may auto suggest that you have been there before without fully thinking it through.

      Hope that answers your question.

I often think I've had a dream more than once, but I've just decided to ignore those thoughts, because I know I haven't. Also, you do lose pretty much all reasoning in dreams. I had a dream that I was nomiated VP for the presidental election (lol) even though I knew in the dream that it was already over.
