      Another WILD Topic

Is it at all possible to do it when you go to bed at night? I hate doing WBTB's. Plus my family members hate it when any of us don't get enough sleep.

Unfortunatley, its extremely difficult to do when you first go to bed. What makes a WILD possible, is a state known as "REM Rebound", in which after you wake up, you bypass all the various other sleep stages, and jump straight into REM sleep.

Normally, to reach the REM stage (the stage at which you dream), you must first pass a series of other stages of sleep. Getting to the first REM stage, takes around 90 minutes, and that stage only lasts 10 minutes, so the dream isn't going to be long at all even if you managed to WILD at the start.

Which brings me to another point: Doing a WILD later at night, allows you to do it during a period at which your dream-states last the longest, up to 45 minutes to an hour, as opposed to the early states that last from 10 to 15 mins.

So while it might be possible, it wouldn't be practical because the dream wouldn't last long enough for you to really enjoy it.

OK, I naturally slept only 5 hours. Is this a good time to WILD? I've only been up 10 minutes so far and are going back to bed in about 20.

I gave up. I spent 1 hour laying still and got bored.

I attempted a WILD last night a couple times. Both times I hit the Vibrations, but tried to transition into the dream too soon and ended up falling out of it. One time, I even tried to sit up, only to find my body still paralyzed and unable to move.

Anyway, after 5-6 hours of sleep is a good time to try to WILD. I normally attempt it as soon as I wake up. If I wait too long, I tend to get too awake and unable to get back into the mode.

Tomorrow/Tonight, try to go into a WILD as soon as you wake up, or within a minute or 2. This will ensure your body is already as relaxed as it can be, and should make WILDing much easier.

Hmmm, I usually need to stay awake at least like 20ish minutes and I noticed it's pretty consistent if I wait closer to 45-60 but not more. Can still happen otherwise for me but it's just more rare. But it might vary from person to person I guess?

I have trouble noticing I just woke up and tend to move my body. I'll try to lose this habit.
