I guess the title says it all.
Er, no but that sounds pretty neat. I've had people walk next to me and narrate. That was pretty cool.
I don't really know what else to tell you.
Whoo, this is awkward.
No, wish I had tough, it seems so cool.
Ugh, yes I've had someone narrating my dreams! I've always found it annoying!
Ditto.....
"As the boy leaves his house he slowly begins his adventure, where this will take him few know however this does not stop his eagerness for the journey."
"Soon after his departure the boy meets many fellow travelers along his street"
And the fool just went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on...... and on and on.... and on....
haha lol ---> on and on.
But sometimes I think it will be cool to have a narrator for a bit. Maybe in the begging of a fight like in the movies. And hopefully you have control over it so it doesn;t go on and on and on lol
I get narrators all the time. I've even had them in my lucid dreams. Sometimes I get something similar, where I am imagining how I will write-up the dream in my DJ as the dream is happening. Like I am translating it, or narrating it myself.
I like to go with the flow and see where my dreams take me. I watch them as if I was watching a movie, or reading a book. I assume that this attitude is what triggers the narrative.
Yep, sometimes I have a dream that I'm in a documentary and I see myself in 3rd person, hear narrators and everything. It's weird, but pretty cool.
I gotta try that!
That should be fun. I'd be constantly telling him to shut up.
Only one time that I can remember.
I do have "theme" songs in my dreams, though. It's really weird. A couple of nights ago, I had a dream where I was in love with some strange man. I found it odd, since I am happily married. I was sitting at a table with him, and the song "Tonight, I celebrate my love for you..." came on. I get songs in my dreams all the time.
Once, I was attempting a WILD, and I was making pretty good progress, when suddenly this man's voice said, "Her attempts at WILDing have long been a source of amusement to many." He spoke as though it were a documentary, or something. It rather threw me off what I was doing.
Ive had narrators in non-lucid dreams, but I have never had a narrator in a lucid dream, It actually sounds like it has the potential to be fun.
Yep.
I get this frequently.
For true seekers, those who will go farthest, this is one of the most valuable experiences. Narration can bring real knowledge, real insight. This can be confirmation that what you are experiencing is maybe not merely a dream, but that you are tapping into the multiverse itself ... alternate time lines, different realms, other earths. Physics is becoming increasingly clear about this. The multiverse is real. This is the broader reality in which we live, and which we might affect.
And dreams are a vehicle for discovering it.
And THIS is why I really can't understand or condone the video junkie approach to dream experience that seems to predominate here. No doubt it's the same people who winge about all of the violence and injustice in this world, going about playing sociopathic superman in their lucid dreams. But, of course, there's a solution for that, too.
So, here are some examples of narrated topics I've tuned in to:
- the emperial antimatter alliance
- the global commodity crisis (from an other earth - nice moving sidewalk subways)
- Abulafia
- the Russo-German alliance (alternate-Earth time line)
- on becoming a Buddha
Empathy and understanding are the keys, people. The Golden Rule. Live it or lose it.
Thanks,
PQ
whoa man, i take offense to that (not that anyone cares) i love watching my dreams unfold, and sometimes i take action (when lucid, sometimes when i'm not also), you went overboard with your statements. don't you have "empathy" (your golden rule) towards people who just like to relax and watch their dreams? or do you just like being hypocritical?
Heh i often have narrators in my dreams, its really handy, often times i can control the narrators and control my dreams directly without actually having to imagine everything
Ok. Noted. I'll have to be more careful.
I didn't say anything critical "towards people who just like to relax and watch their dreams". Dreaming is cool. A gift.
I was critical of clueless people who take dreams seriously enough to practice WILD, DILD etc., but then - by acting like thugs or raging sociopaths - disrespect what they find when they get there.
I should have been clearer about my criticism. Read the posts on "what's your favorite lucid power", to see what I mean. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...471#post948471
yeah i totally misunderstood.
edit: well i see nothing wrong with a"acting like thugs or raging sociopaths" in dreams. i sure as hell don't do it, but if that's what some people need to do to vent it out than more power to them. as long as they are behaved and "normal" in RL than i see absolutely nothing wrong with it. i see that your views on the matter are that you believe dreams to be "real" places, and if i had the same belief than i would also be against people acting like jerks in dreams. what i believe is when someone is lucid they should just enjoy it in anyway they feel like, whether it's killing DCs or just going for a trip to mars.
For me, it is usually like I can just read everyones mind, and thay can read mine.. its weird.. I Geuss its a dream sign
not in my ld's but lots of times in regular ones. though i'm usually always observing passively during these dreams (like I'm not in them myself). its like watching a movie for me.
Well. I guess that's the crux of it. What are dreams? Rather ... how do they function?
0ur vocabulary is inadequate here. The statement "dreams are real" is basically empty. Of course they are subjectively real... actual experiences, memorable sensations, etc. etc. Real information.
But are they about "real places"...about actual entities / beings, having actual sensations etc. etc.?
One can just assume that dreams are not about real places and people. That is convenient. Comfortable. But is it true? "Real", here, might mean: "capable of being experienced in common for entities of the type."
Well. Have you ever seen something (a person, place, thing) in a dream that you've never seen elsewhere in waking life, personally or in any movie or picture? This could be the smallest thing, really. Even a single example? If so, what do you suppose is the source of such coherent and anomalous information? What did you see? Have you ever really thought about it?
Did you mind just make it up? If not, then you (your perceptual reach) "went" there, more or less ... and that "there" thus necessarily HAS ITS OWN REALITY.
See what I mean?
Without knowing "how it works" and what all exists, really, and being unable to rule out the possibility, and having a lot of weird science coming together to say how it might be so ... I just think it's much more responsible to assume that people's dream rampages might have victims just as real as (if less defenseless than) the perpetrators. Who might those victims be? What is their media, their reality? Are they nothing, though we can perceive and interact with them ... even kill them?
I dunno. And that means that I don't know enough to deny much of anything, either.
Thanks,
PQ

I get narrators in a lot of my normal dreams. It's funny when I wake up but in the dream it seems so ridiculously normal.
i respect what you may or may not believe. however since you're responding i might as well respond back with my own views.
i draw a lot, and write stories. most of my drawings are things that have never set foot on this earth, you can call it surrealism or whatever i don't really bother with art genres. anyway, my point is, just because you see something you've never seen before, doesn't mean there's something special or significant about. by the way, everything i've ever seen in a dream i could have easily imagined during waking life (flying, robots, being one with everything, etc.) nothing has been totally alien to me in any dream of any sort lucid or non-lucid. that does not mean they aren't amazing and definitely unique, i'm just saying i could have thought of everything i've ever dreamed about while awake. i'm open to the slight possibility of dreams being "real" because as you've said you experience real feelings, memories, etc. but i know that dreams aren't real in the same way that you and me are, and what i mean by that is solid. dreams are very fluid and flow easily and change constantly even with recurring dreams nothing is exactly the same, there's always something different about it, at least with my experiences and from what i've heard of others.
