when something maraculous happens to people on t.v. or in movies and they say "I must be dreaming." then they pinch themselves and say "well, I felt that so obviously it's not a dream!"

What ticks me off more than that is who people use the word schizophrenia to mean a split-personality disorder, whcih is completely wrong! schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by anxiety, paranoia and delusions. Nothing to do with having two personalities.

I've done that - in a dream, before I'd ever heard of lucid dreaming.

Obviously, it didn't help me.

I also said the highly cliched line, "if this is a dream I don't want to wake up!"

I know, I know: very boring. I need to fire the current writing staff in my dreams and get some fresh talent, if that's the best crap they can come up with.

Schitzophrenia- there are different kinds of schitz. is purely made up of severel things, but one of the major areas is the area of DELUSIONS,like for example, thinking someone is 'out to get you' or you hear voices in your 'mind', this is the most dangerous of the cases of schitzophrenia.

Multiple Personality Disorder is exactly what it reads...it is VERY VERY VERY rare, and the movies stress it very often, there are VERY FEW cases of this, and it is characterized by a person thinking they are different people...duh.
