      Eyes opening automatically?

OK, so I've started using WBTB and not having much luck. I can enter dream paralysis fine, but as soon as I feel myself drifting to sleep and begin seeing illusions, my eyes slowly start to open by themselves. If I force them shut, my body wakes up again, and if I just let them open, I feel like I'm dreaming, but a few RC's confirm that I've just opened my eyes in real life. Can anyone help me out here?

Maybe just wait a little longer until you're definitly in the dream state. You're the second person I've heard this happened to. Besides me, that is. I tried a body asleep, mind awake and this happened. I didn't force my eyes closed, and they just closed on their own, but I didn't enter a dream. I'm kinda in the same boat as you, but I think we just need to wait a bit longer before getting active.

Happens to me too when I am laying on my back and not physically tired enough. The only counter I have is to have pitch blackness so I can't see anything "real" if my eyes open.

I don't think the problem is your eyes at all, merely your mind. If you were going to sleep naturally, would your eyes do this? I don't think so. I would spend more time relaxing myself and making sure I have sufficient amounts of sleep under my belt so that I am thoroughly relaxed (and yet mentally alert) enough to proceed with a WILD post-WBTB.

In addition to that info, this article I wrote up (involving problems with the eyes and other hurdles to jump over when WILD'ing) may help you as well. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...d.php?t=43435&

I agree with this. It's probably a "too good to be true" impulse in the back of your head, creating self doubt and manifesting itself as a lucid dreaming obstacle.
      good times

Although it is in your head, I would say it's more a side effect of using this specific technique. Many forms of meditation work with your eyes open, so I don't think it is a stretch that keeping your body asleep while mind active will produce this result in some people.

It could also be another "Are you really asleep?" test as you learn to successfully use the technique.

Actually, I guess that is a good question for this thread. When you started using this tecnique, did this happen before the first time you were successful? Or did it only start to happen after you used the technique succesfully at least once?
