      Please Help Immediately

So, I'm about to settle in for the night and I've only been looking around on this site for about 3 or 4 days now and I have had no success lucid dreaming yet, please help me in attaining one tonight, should I attempt a WILD? I am considering but am a bit scared of what might happen.

My best advice if you are going to temp a wild is this.

Set your alarm to wake you up 2 hours later, then you should enter WILD very quickly, because your body is still in sleep mode.

I would start your WILD in the morning if you can.. Maybe a saturday if you have school. I go to sleep at 12 and get up about 6:30 and do it.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched

Do you combine the WILD with a WBTB or just get up for a few minutes?

dont panic just relax and make sure that you are tired and for some it might take years before they get proper dreams
Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
sometimes dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .

So basically i tried it the other night and i dont really know your guys' terminology here except that a WILD is when you trick your mind into thinking your body is asleep and i just couldnt do it, it only took 5 minutes to achieve the numbness and my eyes started rolling and i started to see flickers of things but it just got even more bizarre and my breathing became fast and so did my heart rate and i panicked....i tried three times but just couldnt do it. Its just the feeling i get and the shock of it happening...then after this i just wanted to sleep but i couldnt because everytime i started to relax i felt numb even when my eyes were closed....should i attempt again tonight?

If you are that paranoid of the effects of a WILD, don't try it. Simple as that. There are some scary things that happen when WILDing, so prepare for it and just remember that it is all in your head. If you can't do that, try a different method.

There's an awesome guide to do a WILD made by Jeff in the attaining lucidity section. I'm a noob too and it worked the first time I tried! So well that I freaked out and awoke. I'm with you on being scared though.

You probably just notice it more now. Whenever you go to sleep, you get sleep paralysis. WILDing is no different than falling asleep normally.

If WILDing scares you, don't do it. You might be happier with other methods. Just remember, though, that all of the stuff that happens in a WILD also happens every night you go to sleep, but you're just not conscious enough to realize it.

As said, you are just more aware of the sensations now. If you lie still for a while then your body will start getting tingly and numb. (And I dnow about you, but after that first time for me it comes on prety quick the rest of the night.) Just don't worry about it, it has happened every night of your life if you knew it or not. If it is scaring you, get up and do a few jumping-jacks, pushups, or something to get rid of it and try going back to sleep. (Dnow if this would work, but it should wake your body up a little, and hopefully you will fall asleep before the sensations come back)
