I love this stuff... I only been lucid twice but its the funnest stuff ever. I just want to share my views on it..
I'm a strong believer that your dreams are made by your sub-conscious. I have been influenced by a lot of people and have hard time trying to be my own person and figuring out my own wants and needs and I think the sub-conscious is the real me; a nice clear vivid almost lucid dream is satisfying enough.
In my lucid dream, I was controlling my dream and everything around me but I was more aware of myself in my dream than real life(seemed that way)...
It all started when I was 13 and had my first sleep-paralysis i became very interested in dreams... That experience scared the SH*T out of me, I thought I was possessed.
I used sleep-paralysis to reach lucidity the second time... All you have to do is wait it out and try to enter the realm even if you dont know how to do it...
I feel it is a mind game type skill... If you believe a certain way will work than it will.
Secret to not being scared of sleep-paralysis = look at it as a DEEP meditation...
I woke up in the middle of the night and had some caffeine not for lucid help but for thirst... Now remember caffeine stimulates the brain... Sleep paralysis happens almost every time I wake up and try to go back to sleep (not often)... It is 100% when I attempt to go sleep-paralysis. Anyways - last night I fell in paralysis and I actually enjoyed it, all these twilight but soothing sounds start going on. It went on sorta long as I didnt attempt to go lucid and eventually I got spooked from being outta this world for so long... Everytime u get paralyzed the fear shortens, seriously.
Anyway when u goto sleep keep the thought - body asleep mind awake and focus on just that as you fall asleep. Takes time but if you can "CREATE" a deep mind vision it will happen. Its not a skill, your just creating what you want.
If you believe a technique WILL work then it WILL work. When it doesnt, accept the fact that your mind was just as tired as your body and try again 2morrow.
If you the oppositional type than you HAVE to create your own technique. How will this work? Because your always right.
being exhausted physically but not mentally is a sure fire way to paralysis and caffeine will help you.
One more thing to induce sleep/paralysis, remember all the oldest dreams you can (the happy ones) and visions will pop in your mind for a split secound(yes uncontrollably) unless you can hold it. Either that or happy real-life memories as far back as you can remember. They are like vivid dream snapshots if I were to describe it.
I could go on forever...
Can you tell I'm interested in dreams?
