      Sleep talking & Lucid dreams

      Hey -
I was trying to get lucid dreams about 5 or 6 months ago, and I managed to get 3. However, a lot of stuff was happening at the time, and I stopped RCing reguarly, and eventually forgot entirely for a while. However, over the last week I have decided to get back into it.

Here is what I want to ask; this is very weird. Since I have started trying to get lucid dreams again, I have been talking in my sleep. This has never happened to me before, but has only happened on nights after a lot of reality checking on the day before.

Has this maybe left me in a more concious state during my NREM periods? Anyone else experienced this before?

Well, you are right, Sleep talking occurs (most commonly) during NREM periods. But really, sleep talking is harmless. It is normally quiet, and goes away in not too long.

If it is loud or angry, then it is usually in association with another sleep disorder, in which case, it is probably brought on or exacerbated by stress.

Don't worry so much about LDing, and if it is quiet, just wait it out.

Take it easy, and happy lucids.
      Bollocks.

just a quick question.....how did you know you were talking in your sleep? Did someone sleeping next to you tell you?

For me, between trying to WILD and actually getting into the dream, I find myself sitting up in bed and singing or just yelling (but really I'm sleeping) I'm wondering if this is what you experienced, because if that is the case, then you were actually dreaming but probably failed to do a reality check, like i did

Actually no, my mum came in during the night to close my window, and she rekons I was sleep-talking (she told me the next day). Also, my radio went off when she was putting my alarm on (danm, there goes a chance of sleeping in and pretending I was just ignorant to the time :/) and I apparanatly jumped up and kind of tried to move towards it and turn it off. I don't remember that though?
