Release of suppressed emotions in LD's?

      Hi,

I'm new here but have already been busy with lucid dreaming since quite a while now.. and had 2 pre-lucids and 2 lucids till now and I'm sorry if this topic already came up, but I couldn't find anything...

Anyway, I was asking myself if it's possible to release suppressed emotions (such as anger or sadness or something) in LD's? The idea came to me because both of my lucids were kind of brutal and I killed a lot of people... so I thought I might be letting my suppressed emotions out or something. Is it possible that if you behave that way in dreams it's kind of like in real, and you feel relieved after it?

thanks, but I know that... thats kind of the reason why I got interested in lucid dreaming in the first place. My question was if I let out my suppressed emotions in lucid dreams that it will affect my real life somehow. Or if its the same result if I hurt/destroy smthg in real or in a lucid..

I don't think anyone really knows a concrete answer to this, it would probably all be speculation. But if you feel more relaxed after slaughtering a bunch of DCs, go for it One time I wasted a lucid bitching some people out, I felt pissed afterward that I hadn't done something more thoroughly therapeutic and enjoyable.

My personal answer to this would be that, nicely talking and doing nice things with your DCs would have a better effect than killing them. When I do enjoyable things in ym lucids, I am amazingly happy when I wake up. If I wake up from killing people, I think I'll feel more like a psycopath than good...

Well, sure.. gonna try that some time but you dont have to kill someone in order to let the emotion out. thats just what happened to me... it would have a similar effect if you just destroy something or do something else. im sure everybody felt at least once such a rage that he had to let it out some way, either shout at somebody, or destroy something, have a burnout, ... and i think it would be pretty nice if you could do that in your dreams instead

Really? Wow, not bad, you must live in a really nice environment or just be ridiculously good at handling anger and stuff For those who arent as lucky as you, might as well just release their tension in their dreams and feel more relaxed afterwards (like me..)

I'm sure you could be using dreams to vent, but personally, that's never happened for me.

I tend to forget about all bad things in life as soon as I'm lucid.

To me it is quite obvious that your supressed emotions are realesed during LD's. And durng dreams in general. Supressing emotions really means removing them from your consciousness to sub-conscious. In a dream the sub-conscious is much more active, so naturally supressed emotions appear in your dreams.

I actually think that this fact can be used to improve our wakig life. For example, you are in love with someone, but you're too shy or whatever to show your feelings openly. When you dream the situation, then in reality you may be less stressed out and you maybe you will even know what to expect. These are still only speculations, though, as Shift said.
