I think that as the human race gets older, we acquire more brainpower. Why, some say that thousands of years ago, the concept of 'consciouness' didn't even exist! These days, we have philosophers galore, we explore consciousness deeper and deeper and keep coming up with new ideas. We also gain more abilities, ie Lucid Dreaming. To me, lucid dreaming is a skill (which I haven't quite mastered yet ;D). *

Anyway, it's a good question to ask what it is that attracts us to dreaming. For me, I was simply so amazed that I'd never heard of it before that I had to try it myself to see if it was real.
hey wait... if consciousness wasn't in existance thousands of years ago, who's aristotle? and plato? and socrates? and the chinese ppls? just a thought.
nous avons ajouté des années à notre vie,
mais pas de vie à nos années.

I dont know, but it feels like LD is and expanding view of consciousness. Directly linked with evolution. Its like up to now "mother nature" so to speak(our subconscioussness brain) have adapted to the enviroment by testing new things, maybe failed, adjusted, tested again, sucsess and so on up and up, to us modern humans. Now we are handed over the responsibility to adjust ourselfes forward on with our conscioussness brain. And with the thought itself, that one thought can produce an physical effect in the body, i believe with LD you can "program" your subconscioussness, all the way down to the very DNA. The brain have done it til now automatic without our attention, but now LD can make you sit in the drivers seat... after much practice offcourse.
