      vivid dreaming

      hello every one
having had four hypnosis sessions 3 and a half months ago has left me with the unwanted ability to have vivid dreams. it is these dreams that are severly effecting my sleeping pattern. my usual sleeping pattern is 2 or 3 hrs sleep before waking. does anyone out there know of anyone else having these or had experienced the same thing? ive got a problem and i need advice (if possible) to hopefully get my natural slleping pattern back. so if there are any dream specialist or anyone that may provide me with any useful info, i would be grateful for the advice. geniune replies only please.

      thankyou

Am I understanding that you do not want these vivid dreams? Most of us welcome them.
Have any of them been Lucid?

      Hello tee,

That is one of the reasons I never let anyone but myself hypnotize me!!

Have you tried autohypnosis to reverse what has happened?

One thing you might want to try is to develop the ability to have Lucid Dreams. If your dreams are as vivid as you say, then your lucid dreams will be incredible!

You might also try taking a dose of Melatonin about 30 minutes before going to bed at night to see if that calms things down a little.

If these develop into lucid dreams... you could put yourself back to sleep...

      Tee,

I would suggest prayer or listening to soothing music before going to sleep. I second trying Melatonin (which effects different people in different ways... ). I don't know much about hypnosis, but from what I've heard about it, you can end up making things worse if you don't know what you're doing. If you're not overwhelmed by fear or anxiety and you are somewhat aware during the dreams, try controlling your dream content a bit to smooth things up or calm yourself down.

I suggest Meditation and self hypnosis to undo it all..melotonin is going to boosts your sleep..but also your dreams so you risk having even more vivid and longer dreams wake up anyway

      Think about the irony,

he comes to a place where most of us wish we could have incredibly vivid dreams every night. I often wakeup several times throught the night, and can and try the wild stuff but my acute fear of the darkness prevents me. Just ignor that part.

But any way, sleeping pills can kill dreams so you can try that, i read somwhere that it takes REM down to 1/10 of your sleeping process, plus sleeping pills might prevent you from waking up in the middle of the night.

      tee,

Are you dreams unpleasant? I like to think of them as an adventure!
Look around and learn about lucid dreaming!

I look forward to continuing this in the morning...

i don't know about pills. if he/she got this way through hypnosis it could be undone the same way. right? -- if all else fails talk to a hypnotherapist, maybe it can be resolved easily.

I would suggest returning to the same hypnotists and asking for the events to be reversed. And while you are at it, also ask the hypnotist to allow you to lucid dream!

      hello.
tried sleeping pills, didnt work, it seems that my brain is prpgrammed to wake up when it wants too. ive tried loads of hypnosis to revert but no luck. i thought also that it would be the way back. the only advise i can give u guys is stay clear of hypnosis. hey seeker, tell me what u know of autohypnosis. im interested, although i really shud stay clear as its clear that i have a bad reaction to hypnosis.
      take care all

Autohypnosis is a self induced state very similar to what occurs in hypnosis. However, you are the one guiding the induction and planting the suggestions.
I used to do it by becomming 'passivly aware' and allowing my brainwaves to enter alpha state.
Lucius mentions meditation, the state of conciousness is similar.

I would suggest looking up some induction techniques. You could even use those that your hypnotist used. You should me more attuned to them already.

There is also a product on the market called BWGEN that used binaural techniques to induced altered conciousness. Just google it, there is a free demo.

Don't expect quick changes though. My personal experience shows that autohypnosis might not be as quick.

I've never been hypnotized, and I never want to. As I have said before, the only person I want messing with my mind is ME.

It would take a VERY strong medicine to stop dreaming. You would have to stop you mind from entering REM state. I definately would suggest that you do not do this! You need REM sleep to maintain your health and sanity.

Many of us have been having lucid dreams for years. Some of us are new to it.
We do everything in our power to have lucid dreams.

I think that if you will work on it, you can achieve control and perhaps use that to make your dreaming more pleasent.
