      Ginkgo Biloba

Hey - just registered here, but noticed that this hasn't been mentioned, so:

Has anyone ever tried / heard of Ginkgo Biloba? It's generally sold as a 'booster' supplement, normally around exam times. A side-effect that myself and my friend have noticed is extremely vivid dreams that night. Generally, dreams are clearer and more stable, as well as longer. Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with it.

I take gingko from time to time along with ginseng for mental sharpness (they're said to work well together, and it seems true from my experience). I've never noticed an effect on dreams.

EDIT: Check "THe Pharmacy" forum (might be a thread under tutorials). There might be more info there.

With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. I'd checked the pharmacy forum, didn't see it there, which was why I posted.

The effect on dreams generally only becomes noticeable after a couple of days usage - and a good night's sleep of course.

They derive Ginko From the Ginko tree. It is generally used to support memory growth. Somtimes mixing it with a vitamin B. That is all I know of the top of my head.

Here is a very informative site:

I did some experiments with Ginko and DMAE taken together. It wasnt in any way intented to improve my lucid dreaming, I just took it before an exam. About 3 hours later I went to take a nap and noticed dramatic change in awareness. Basically I was in another setting. and I was shifting between settings untill finally arriving back to bed.

Another time, same story, exept I had a class after exam. So I closed my eyes and went to sleep. I expected something similar, and sure enought I could see the classroom throught the closed eyes....

These effects are very cool, but I noticed a jerking motion of my arm and decided to research a bit.

it turns out that DMAE and ginko can increase your chance of seizure
