      Lightbulb My Success with Mirrors

My last three lucid dreams have been DIELDs that were initiated by seeing myself in a mirror.

I'm going to begin using mirrors as part of my reality checks and see if I can increase the amount of LDs I have using mirrors.

Has anyone else experienced this before with a mirror?

      I think you mean DILDs.

But yes, mirrors are often a good reality check. I wouldn't suggest doing it on it's own... But if you're doing three RCs or so, a mirror could be used as one.
      Bollocks.

That's an interesting RC, not sure why I didn't think of it

      You are correct...I meant DILD.

      My apologies!

Also, when I attempt to WILD, 9 times out of 10 I'll go in to a False Awakening. I thought about putting a mirror somewhere in my room, as often times when I have them I will wake up on my recliner and think to myself, "How did I get over here?"

Climb back in my bed and pass out in to a typical dream.

Well, it doesn't have to be your only RC.

Do a few RCs when you wake up. And maybe use the mirror one more often during the day.
      Bollocks.

using a Mirror is an usual choice. everything I have read says that seeing your reflection is a chief cause of sudden awakening and sleep paralysis.

I have only looked at my reflection ones in an LD and what I saw was a terminator 2 style head blown into pieces. there were bits of skin and eyes trailing towards the ceiling. my head was essentially strung together shrapnel.
I then heard my voice emitted from the walls screaming.

I continue to LD and that was one of the more vivid experiences. It is an experience I don't regret however I probably won't be looking to repeat it to soon.

this freaks me out, I will never use a mirror in any of my dreams. I have pretty much already conditioned myself to the point that it is inevitable that if i see a mirror something bad will happen

Every time I look in a mirror in a dream my hair is ALWAYS different. It changes to every color of the rainbow and is many MANY different styles, lengths, etc. It's kinda neat to see your self with different hair all the time. It would be useful if your about to change it's style or get it cut and you want to see how it looks like in case it might look bad.

Wow interesting......so far in all the times I've seen myself in a mirror in a dream I look pretty much normal......

Perhaps because I don't spend a lot of time in front of one? We must figure this out!
