      What is the dream world?

Alright I dont recall if this was brought up before. But I need to know where we stand, who here believes what?? As far as I know only Seri(and me) believe in a real second reality, one that is actually real and is is not all up your head.Where some things are not actually dream characters, and where you are not always in control. Mabey there are some other people Im not sure of,they might(bluelou? evangel? dream-master? Lost Soul?). But what about everybody else?I get the idea alot of people just think its up your head..so.. all up your head? Or not?

I've just started reading a book called The Holographic Universe which has some pretty interesting chapters on dreaming and lucid dreaming. It puts forward that lucid dreaming could be some sort of ability to tune into or create alternate realities. I'm a little sceptical but I think that has to do with my lack of experience with lucid dreaming so far. The way that the author backs up the theories with work done in physics seems quite sound so who knows.

I'd like to think that my dream world is real. I think that when I die, my mind will live there forever. The ultimate heaven! I was thinking that maybe, that is where I came from. Your mind is made in the dream world and then you are placed into body. Maybe thats where we all started and maybe thats where we are all going to end.

      see you there!

I also beleive there is a second reality. However, not every dream is a second reality. There are three types of dreams:

      1. Ordinary dreams - the garden variety type. Your mind orgaizes memories and jumbles recent experiences with anxiety, fears, hopes, dreams, etc.

      2. Lucid dreams, which refelct the second reality

      3. Enlightened dreams - These dream are truly in another reality. In these dreams one can meet a guide, a teacher or other entitites. In these dreams things are revealed to you. You may get to read ancient books or be taught lessons. Many times, however, people wake up and forget the lessons.

Most people just dream the first group. By learning to master lucid dreaming, we can learn to have enlightened dreams as well.

I've heard its the place your soul goes to while you're sleeping.
Maybe that's why sometimes people die in their sleep.

The first two (but I voted for the second).

theres a study on this question going on at the UofA. its more focused on out of body experiences. -- they want to find out why patients who had their eyes closed and ears plugged could reconoize the faces of doctors that were working on them and recall conversations that the doctors were having. -- i think their basic theory is that a chemical in the brain thinks your dead so it starts the leave through superpossition and it picks up this stuff (or something like that, i really don't know that much about the study). ill try to find out more, plus most of it is over my highschool educated brain.

I voted not sure because I think most of the time it is what Laberge talks about.
Your body image looses touch with its senses and therefore kind of wanders and creates it's own reality.

I say most of the time, because I have learned about some funky stuff since coming to this website!

I also had to vote not sure. I used to think I was in control but I've since learned that's not always the case.

In particular, once I thought about bringing in an ex-girlfriend who I still talk to but no matter how hard I tried she wouldn't appear. I figured if I can't get her to come to me I'd go to her so with me now having the amazing power of flight I took off. When I was almost there I came across a little shanty town in the middle of the road and no matter what I tried I couldn't get passed it and eventually lost the ability to fly and got lost among the tents. After awhile anger and frustration set in and I woke up.

I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere but I now know I can't do anything I want. I seem to get more satisfaction out of an LD now by just taking in the scenery and exploring, social interaction with anyone I happen across, and just enjoying the moment. I've got to agree that there's more involved than just control, but that doesn't mean you can't stop and play once in awhile.

Sorry if I rambled too much and strayed from the topic.

I voted and Dream Master makes a very good point. Enlightened Dreams, these dreams(well I wouldn't call them actual dreams) but this is definately that next level. Thats why Elightened Dreams are the hardest to obtained, the hardest to grasp.

I agree there with Dream Master also.
But some how I think enlightened dreams are usually lucid, but I don't think you can call them forth. I've had a couple myself, and it was before I knew what lucidity was, I used to think I was just dreaming my consciousness. They usually tell me about myself and what's worrying me. Full of symbolism and they are quite poetic. I can tell they aren't regular dreams.

are this dreams have to be lucid?

Today I've met a teacher in a normal dream, and he picked me out of the group
and taught me how to sing and some other things... among other things he let me choose between good/neutrality and evil. I dont remember what I chose but it was extremely vivid dream. I still remember what he taught me about singing

Is it an example of enlightened dream?

In my eyes all dream have the potential of being the second reality, as normal dreams might become lucid dreams (when you realise you are dreaming) and this lucid dream might become an "enlighted dream" as you may call them, when you for example summon your spirit guide. And this is all the same dream, so it does not matter what kind of dream it is, it all depends on your actions, it depends on yourself, what you make of it.
