Ever doubted you actually had an LD?

      Hi everyone, first post here.

I think I had my first LD last night (bar a 10 second one a few weeks ago). But now, i'm doubting whether it was actually a lucid dream or whether i just had a dream about being in a lucid dream (if you get my meaning!)- this is because, while i can remember what happened pretty well, i can't remember my feelings/reactions to being in the dream very well.

I went to bed around 12, and set my alarm for 5.40. I woke up then (from a dream i can't remember), browsed some lucid dreaming stuff on the net for 40 minutes, while doing plenty of RCs (i've been trying the writing on the hand method). I then went to sleep and, as far as i can remember, i woke up pretty much straight away and realised i was dreaming.

I had a quick fly around (as you do!), but couldn't control the landing very well, so i then thought i'd woken up- i was standing in a bedroom, opening a window and i remember thinking that its weight felt extremely real, and i could hear the wind rushing outside. Then i checked my hand and to my surprise i had seven fingers, all changing shape and morphing- some short and stubby, some normal. This made me realise i was dreaming. Then i wandered around then dream world for a while visiting friends at a party, before i woke up (for real, this time).

I'm pretty sure this was all real, and i wrote it up in my journal as soon as i awoke- there's just this nagging feeling that, because while i can remember the events, i can't remember my emotions/reactions to being lucid, it may have been a 'dream within a dream'. Has anyone ever felt like this?

This has happened to me once too. The more I think about it the more I doubt that it was actually a lucid dream.

I think it is fairly common for newer members to dream about having a lucid dream. Theres is a lot of debate on this forum to if it is classed as a LD or not. Its hard to tell to be honest (drawing from my own personal experience)

I had an LD which i doubted the other night where I realised I was dreaming and went and did my usual random running around having a bit of fun but then suddenly I started talking to DCs about the lucid dream I had just had as if I had woken up and was talking to friends about it.

I was definately not lucid then which draws up the question whether I was ever lucid.

I'm also not new to lucid dreaming and have had plenty before.

It's when you're having a real low-level LD. Sometimes I'm more on the non-LD side of a dream than an LD side, and will have minimal awareness.

But when you have a super-vivid LD, there's no doubt that you're actually having an LD.

ya i agree with dash. I think its when your having a very low level lucid or you were dreaming that you were have a lucid dream. Hope that actually made sense lol. that has happened to me many times, but it ususally stops after you have had a few more lucids

      hope it helps

By definition, then you had a LD. Even if it feels like a dream about a dream about a dream about a lucid dream (etc). In the end it was just a LD, it doesnt really matter if you are able to remember emotions from it or not. As others said here before, there are different levels of lucidness, from low to high. The lower-level ones are always harder to remember, is my experience. So once you get high level lucids, you will know the difference and will remember pretty much everything of it after you wake.

more then once. I'll wake up thinking, "cool I had a lucid dream". Then when I'm writing about it in my dream journal, I realize I wasn't that lucid.

I can't doub it 'cause in all my lucid dreams i'm myself.

I feel the things, i control the things...And when i wake up i just recall everything in my DREAM JOURNAL to not forget it...

I think i never had a "False Lucid" or dreamt about being lucid without truly lucidity
