      DILD, WILD or Both?

I had my first lucid dream the other ngiht and I'm not sure of wether or not I had a WILD or a DILD or possibly both.

I think It was initiated at first through DILD but I kept at it and "went back in" through WILD, but I'm not sure.

I was swimming around underwater finding different objects. I searched a log that looked like a hollow bone section. I found a bowling ball. I brought it to the surface. Bob Kelso was standing right above me. He told me to hand him the bowilng ball. I handed it to him and someone saw us. he immediatly backed away and said "That's not mine" He whispered to me that he wanted me to put it in the pile of seaweed. I struggled for a little bit with the heavy barnicle covered ball. I swam back down to the lake floor. I then realized that I was swimming underwater without running out of breath. I rememered that I used to have dreams like this as a child. I realized I was dreaming! I felt my physical body lying in my bed. I willed myself back into the dream. I saw a rock bed. I started flying away out of will. I remember feeling my physical body several times, and starting to wake up, then leaning and flipping backwards with my dream body to stay in the dream and continue flying around in a dark abyss. I struggled back and forth between feeling my physical body and being awake, and becoming concious in the dream world. It was very sensational.

the part in bold is what makes me think there may have been some WILD element to it.

If The second part was a WILD, then I would like to further explore this.

If you were dreaming, then woke up and got yourself back into a lucid dream, then it's a DEILD, which stands for Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream (I think). What seperates DEILDs and WILDs is that when you WILD you're more than likely waking up early in the morning, doing something for a bit of time, and then laying down and attempting to initiate a dream through letting your body fall asleep but keeping your mind awake. DEILDs can be compared to surfing, you're in a dream (on a wave) and fall off. For a second or two you're awake, but then you get back into a dream (get back on the wave). It's like catching REM waves. WILDs can be compared to surfing also, but you just have to wait longer to get on a wave, if that makes any sense at all.

It sounds to me more like you simply felt your body but managed to stabilize the dream, than actually exited the dream and then had to WILD to get back into a lucid.

If you DID wake up and then DEILD, then I personally would count this as two separate lucid dreams. First, you were lucid by DILD, then you woke up, then you were able to DEILD.

First of all congrats on your 1st LD feels good don't it?

I think from what you describe, this second part is closer to a DEILD than a WILD, but another thing is interesting in the way you describe it. You said you could feel your body lying in bed, now this could actually mean that you were still in the dream state except that you had a lack of visual stimulus and were most likely surrounded my darkness. I had this before where I just knew I was dreaming although my surroundings were quite dark, but I could also feel my body back in bed, this is the "Twin Body" state and it's where you're able to separately focus on either your dream body to try and stay in the dream or indeed use the focus of your real body in bed to remind you that you are still dreaming, if that makes sense?

My body in my case was very vague and I just kind of "Felt" my body underneath my dreambody somewhere, almost like a sack of coal in the bed, lol.
