      Cure to Lucid dreaming Hiccups

      suggestions anyone?
If you had them how would you get rid of them?

every time I plug my nose and hold my breathe in, it doesn't work, even in the dreamworld!
I play broccoli with checkers every night.

Eat a tablespoon of raspberry jam. That allways works in real life

I also heard if you plug your nose and ears then swallow 20 times as fast as possible, that'll work too.

Oh darn those hiccups, those sudden, involuntary contractions of the diaphragm muscle. * shakes fist in the air*

I guess the lucid dream spinning technique wouldn't work here.

I know that in a LD I can hold my breath for a long, long time. I often wondered in the dream if I would actually die IRL, but I always seem to wake up alive.

Anywho, Was thinking maybe a nightmare would scare myself free.

I don't even understand the question. Dream hiccups? Real hiccups while you're trying to fall asleep? Are those even the same thing? Is that what you're asking?

So, in your dreams you often have the hiccups? I've just never heard of this before. DO you know if you're really having hiccups? Because your breathing would likely reflect that... Maybe you're getting them in RL and that's giving them to you in the dream? Could videotape/mic your room and see. If this is a real problem, that would be step 1.

I think I'll give the mic in the room a try, thanks Shift.

My dog sleeps in my room too, I think maybe he has them, and I hear them while dreaming.

Perhaps it could be a mild form of sleep apnea, where you have difficulty breathing while asleep. If I had dream hiccups, that's something I'd look into.

sleep apnea huh, never considered that.

      That would be serious.
my daytime sleepiness would be explained. Thanks Cusp.

It's weird that a sufferer of sleep apnea could have symptoms that could go on for years without identification. I'll look into that.
