Do you feel an urge to rush things in an LD?

So, recently I made a thread about how my recall with DILDs has been terrible. Thankfully, the good lucid dreaming god in the sky has blessed me with two WILDs in the last three days. They were short enough but extremely vivid. But when appearing into them and doing an RC I often feel as if I have little time to explore it and find myself rushing things and runnig about quickly.

Does anyone else find this is the case?

Also, would this urge to rush things make my LDs naturally shorter?

      Thanks!

in my first handful of LDs i was the same way - i would feel rushed, like i needed to do something cool before i woke up. this definitely makes your lucids shorter and harder to remember. just learn to slow down and stabilize - if you're not moving so fast you'll see more details and feel more in control of your mental faculties.

I used to, but not so much any more, since they are getting longer I take my time and do things right.

Something that hlped me is learning how to reneter a lucid dream if I wake up, that assures me in the dream that even if I wake up, I can start back where I was again.

I have a bad habit of rushing mine, and am always afraid that looking at the scenery to increase clarity will wake me up. Interestingly, I think my dreams only seem fuzzy because my memory of it is. I remember looking down at my hands and seeing them in extreme detail, but later waking up and only dimly remembering fuzzy hands in a red room. But that's sort of a random tangent.

That's interesting. I guess it takes time which I don't particularly mind tbh.

I have the same problem, but I´m trying to change that. I cant wait for my next LD in which I can try to calm down.

I do this too sometimes, it's very annoying, isn't it? Things just seems to turn...messy when it's all rushed, I hate it!

I agree, I have this problem too. It's like, you have to see what you can see before you wake up, and it always makes waking up more inevitable for me. I think next time I have a lucid dream, I might just find something in the dream to hold onto really tightly and sit down and relax. Just chill out for a moment or something. XD

just dont worry so much about your goals and have fun. When I have a good lucid I usually get distracted doing something other than what I planned , but the experience itself is enough to satisfy me. I never know where the dream will start or what environment I'll be put it in, so I just work with whatever I get, and have a good time.
