      getting a break from LD

      hi all there,
I know I am new to the forum, but I wasnt new to lucid dreaming. I´m trying hard since 2 1/2 years now. I know I did some things wrong, changed a lot about my way of RC and also tried often to WILD.
I DID have 3 LDs between february and may.
But during the last month I couldnt even remember my dreams anymore!
This never happened to me before. Normally I remember 1-3 dreams each night.
After 2-3 weeks with no dreams at all (I even couldnt remember them when I slept 10 hours), I decided to make a break 2 days ago.

I had a lot of emotional stress and I think this was my problem. I feel better again now, but I´m not as rested as I should be.
During the last 2 nights I remembered 2 dreams again! So the day I decided to make a break seemed to release some stress for me as well.
In 2 weeks I want to come back to lucid dreaming and want to put as much as effort into it as never before! I dont want this year to be a NON-LD year again. I already had three LDs and I want a lot more of them!

Anyone of you had the same experience? Does making a break help sometimes? Or do you think a break is not a good idea?

Having a break from lucid dreaming can do wonders.

Sometimes people try too hard to gain lucidity and end up in a rut.

A break allows them to refresh and tackle it from a different angle. I think I am due for a break.

Another good thing about taking a break of LDing is that you might be able to get enough sleep in the night instead of sacrifcing sleep for LDs.

Taking a break is a good idea if you're having a dryspell. It relases the tension and stress from not recalling any dreams. I just got back into LDing last month after a long break and I got my recall back up in a matter of days. Getting back to my DJ also helped me as well.

thank you. now I know it´s not a mistake to take a break.
I also believe I tried too hard. I got even depressed for not having LDs, even though I try for such a long time.
At least I had 3 LDs this year, this shows me it´s not impossible to learn it - also not for me.
