      Window Open or Closed?

Just a simple and fun question I would like to ask everyone: I was wondering if people leave their windows open all night or close their windows before going to sleep?

I don't want to sound strange, its just I always find that keeping my window open triggers something in my mind so I don't feel so confined.

I find it difficult to sleep with my window closed, if i cant listen to sounds etc.

I think the time before sleep is the most important to trigger lucidity, preparation is vital, especially when you can listen to the sound of rain and the wind (on great nights listening to both).

Does the window open or closed effect peoples ability to dream do you think?

I leave the window open for most of the summer... but in the winter it just gets too cold. I'd love to be able to leave it open in the winter though, to be honest, if I could make it so that only a little cool breeze could come through, then I'd do it... but waking up in the middle of the night with my face stuck to my frost covered sheets isn't the most fun.

Open all year round, especially during those good New England winters. If I can't see my breath while lying in bed in the morning it's too hot. Yeah, I'm weird

i leave my window closed all the time(pretty much) my fan is enough to cool off my wind, i think i'd end up being paranoid having my window open over a long period of time.

Same here. I like small rooms and stuff, so I like feeling close and cozy...

Also I like to be able to here what is going on outside - paranoid

I have my windows locked down during the cold nights. But i wish the room was alittle fresher upon awakening. So i think im gonna invent this automatic window opener. And everytime the windows open a voice is going to tremble trough the room "YOUR DREAMING"

^^^ Or you could, like, install a fan and keep your door open for the night...

It get's quite cold here to leave my window open any other time than during summer. But even then -- most of the time in this American household we'll have the AC on, and it ends up seeming quite warmer outside.

Plus, yeah, my screen has a cut in it and I hate bugs.

My window is closed all the time. I can hear the outside noises well enough with it shut (cars, dogs, people, etc). It'd be an annoyance in the city to leave it open most of the time, especially living right off a 4 lane avenue. When I lived in the country, I didn't mind having it open, and it was nice to do in the summer, but way too cold to leave open in the winter.

I never open my window. If I tried it might get stuck from not moving in so long heh.

You people are lucky you even have windows.
My room's downstairs so I don't have one. Or two.
But if I had one I'd most likely have to keep it closed, even though I like open windows. When I had a bedroom with windows, I used to get nightmares that people were breaking in. Of course, that was a while back...

Closed! Too many critters out at night for the dogs to bark at! In the summer, I leave the ceiling fan on, in the winter, my white-noise box is going.

Closed. I often wake up extremely hot (my computer is on 24/7 - in fact, it's been on 3 days, 5 hours, 53 mins and 49 secs at the time of this writing) and it generates ALOT of heat, but if I open my window...well, grasshoppers jump in, flies get in my nostrils, spiders that are so big I'm not even sure if they're legal, and alsorts of other freaky things with legs get in. So i open my door instead, which balances the temperature out in about 5 minutes to a nice cool temperature...but then I get too cold. Still, I like this computer. It provides all this computer stuff and heat to boot. Hooray!

Open almost all day every day. It gets too stuffy otherwise. It's only a crack open, though, or else the squirrels will get in.... Marion and Jude are so cute! When I get the pictures developed I'll show you how Marion reacted to my dancing snowman.... I did have to keep them shut earlier this year, tho, because ladybugs kept coming in.

*ahem* Everybody's copying Kaniaz's awesome spontaneous illustration technique nowadays, so I figured I'd give it a try. Yeah. But the quality sucks 'cuz I did it in about two seconds with an engineer's pencil (the freaky square-shaped ones) and paint...meh. It's not like it's supposed to look good.

If it's cold, my window is wide open. I love having to curl up under the covers, with a nice aroma of insence burning. I sleep well when I do that.

I voted open, but it depends on (1) weather and (2) mosquitos
