      My Nightmares

Hello. Woaw haven't seen this forum up in a while. I stopped visiting when I got the news that it was down then I heard that it was being under control by another member so here I am. ^_^. Anyways I wanted to know if anyone out there knows anything on Nightmares. Ive gotten a counciler but untill she calls back to schedule an appointment or to talk and meet me I needed to find something out about nightmares. Ive had them ever since Ive been able to sleep (Ive had insomnia all my life) and just recently (two years ago) I started taking medication so I can sleep and its helped me alot. So ever since Ive had bad nightmares that are quite a few every month.People told me it was the medication or that Ive been through something in my childhood but I Haven't been through anything and all the dreams are different nightmares. They never seem to lead to anything and they usually mean something that I find out later and learn but ... I dunno I just dont understand what they could mean or be for.. Does anyone know if there's just a disorder called,"Chronic Nightmare Syndrome" or something? Just recently, like 2 months ago, I started having nightmares every night and its not like me to do that.. usually it was just one or two a week but never every night. They wont stop and they're all different. I hope someone can help. Thanks

      hey

every nightmare that i've had has been one that doesnt envolve physical pain or tourture. They've always been about someone dying, someone i love pushing me off a ledge of some sort, me just falling. More serene then most i hear about (being chased by things, being shot, stabbed, being tourtured).

I think nightmares come from stress in our life, or a fear of ours.
Do you have stress constantly everyday? what do you fear? how are these dreams different?

You should start a "nightmare journal" and post some of the nightmares in the Interpretation forum to see if they could be related.

They may be different but they could mean the same thing.

Yep - nightmares are generally caused from negative emotions and beliefs. Fear, Anger, Guilt (I sound like yoda )
      Something is bothering you...

      I see two possibilities:
      1) You can go to a psychologist/psychiatrist and explain the dreams, and have him spend months on you, and months of your money
      2) Learn to become lucid in these nightmares, and confront your fears. By confronting them, you also confront the problem in your waking life - making it easier to be objective about it

      Good luck

Do mean, you think that something or someone is invading your dreams and attacking you in them?
These are the tears that I dream about...

Yeh... I'm also curious to know what you mean by "attacked?" What do you think the nightmares may be caused by? As for the journal: I've found you don't need to write down every detail. You can simply write down key events and even draw diagrams, or notes - anything to help you remember. With nightmares, it may be difficult to want to remember the content because it's disturbing, but if you train yourself to look at them as a manifestations of an inward problem or even "an attack", remembering them, will eventually help you to understand and hopefully learn from them.
