      Strange sensations when becoming lucid

This is my first post here, so... hello everyone!

I've been fairly interested in this whole lucid dreaming business for a while, and decided to drop a question about something that usually happens to me when i get asleep and become lucid.

For about a year or two now, becoming lucid (or semi-lucid, not sure of the difference) has been almost automatic IF I'm taking a nap. Let's just say that 8 of every 10 afternoon naps i take turn into lucid dreams without much effort (or none at all).

Now, the thing is, the same thing usually happens. As soon as i lay down in the couch i nap on, i start feeling my heartbeat, and several parts of my body "beating" to it slightly. After a few minutes, i start getting a very strange sensation, in which i feel as if short "waves" were climbing through me and shocking my brain.

These "shocks" start becoming more frequent, to the point where i actually start feeling myself becoming asleep. I then reach a point where i think "am i asleep already?" and attempt to lift myself from my own body, and accomplish it (i feel my body standing up, but at the same time feel my body still laying there, sleeping). From that point i usually go through a wall of my house and fly off into my lucid dream.

Now what I'm asking is, are these "shocks" a common thing? Anything to worry about?

      Thanks for reading!

Nothing to worry about, the vibrations may not be common to everyone but many people experience these including me, although when I get them I usually end up falling asleep and not going lucid so congrats there!

These are just hypnagogic hallucinations that you're experiencing as you fall asleep. Sounds like you're a natural WILDer! Very awesome success rate too! If I were you I would nap so often....!

Someone who has the "WILD" type of lucid dreams, or uses the "WILD" technique (any technique that gets you a WILD lucid dream)
