      Making a dream longer?

..first of all, I'm finding it hard to distinguish between the "newb" and "general" sections, but I guess I'd post in the newb section when I'm asking questions that have definitely been covered, or something that would be in an "intro" tutorial.

Anyway, I've heard a bunch of accounts of dreams that feel very long in a short real time, or feel very short in a long real time, and we've probably all experienced that. My question is, has anybody actually experimented with that and tried to make a dream seem longer or shorter? It would be pretty useful (didn't some guy report having a dream that lasted 100 years? Man, it would be hard to get back to normal life once you woke up)

All my dreams are so vivid then real life...

Usually, they last longer...The best way [to me] make the dreams last longer, is trying to WILD at 04h00 [i always wake at this hour, and my best and longer REM CYCLE starts when i wake back to bed at this time]...

Maybe if you find your longer REM CYCLE you could try WILD, or WBTB before it normally starts...

You could summon two clocks, one for reality, and one for the dream and make your reality clock go slower while the dream one doesn't have any changes. I believe it would somehow tell your subconcious that you want to percieve things slower or faster or something making your dream experience longerrr in a shorter amount of real time. Just a suggestion, I don't know if it works.

It's an interesting suggestion. I think it would work if done with conviction, because it's all about how you perceive things.
