      Mint tea works

Some one in the recall section said they used mint tea before bed it increase recall. Last night I drank a cup of mint tea with

three tea spoons of sugar. In was sittng up in bed in the dark drinking the and when i fell asleep my dream was very clear and i could

remember every word of if. I have been struggeling with recall in the past few weeks i was unable to remember very much of my dreams

if it all. When I was sitting there I did not think it would work but it does. Eventhough this is much cheaper I am still going to try the b6 at

      GNC.

Apparently mint smells stimulate the hypothalamus, and in turn the hormones of the pituitary and pineal glands
In other words - its a cheap dose of melatonin and serotonin, and a few other good things

(if thats entirely true, of course)

      Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, I have been having trouble with dream recall too, so now I'm off to the store to buy a box of mint tea!
What Kind of mint tea was it? Just plain mint, or reguar tea with mint?

BTW, most of these things seem to be at least mildly related to anti-aging too
Mint tea, B6, melatonin, serotonin stimulators (st johns wort), zinc

If thats the case, in theory, broad beans will be great for dreams too
      Anyone wanna try?

Do you think it's the caffeine? I heard some people on this board talk about how when they have caffeine before sleeping, they get more vivid dreams. Personally it just makes me stay awake longer....

Im pretty sure that most types of mint tea dont have any caffine. Its herbal tea (at least the stuff I drink) and its all natural with no caffine or anythig added. I dont think id be able to sleep if there was caffine it it!

Nah, apparently just the smell of mint tea alone, stimulates hormones in the brain

Hmmm. *rummages through tea cupboard* Damn, I have just about every kind of tea EXCEPT mint. Do you think chammomile would work? Or licorice root? Or ginger? Or "gingerbread spice?"

Really? I love mint tea. We grow our own peppermint in my backyard, so whenever I want some I just go cut off a few leaves (well, quite a few leaves) and boil 'em. Good stuff...just put a little honey or sugar in...

interesting medical info..... (off to google to read up)

If thats true about the smell of mint alone, would it be safe to say that if I huffed some spearmint gum before sleep it would help?

      Caffeine

Blech, I thought that maybe it was the caffeine in the tea that helped... so I drank a cup of plain sugarfree tea, with my usual 4 cups of water (to MILD, I can't stand alarm clocks), and my WILDing was reallt successful, but I kept having to get up every half hour to pee, and my dream recall was totally shot. I'm not sure, but I think that the caffeine killed my dream recall last night.

I assume you used WBTB with WILD ?
The caffiene probably just caused you to be less sleepy. You could do without the caffiene and spend a longer time awake during your WBTB. That would have a similar effect - without the recall issues.
