      Drugs and Dreams

I sincerely hope that there hasn't been a topic pointed specifically at this before... but does anyone else have experience with drugs (legal or non) that affect dreams? I've been losing my damn mind lately, and I'm more or less wondering if anyone else has esperience with extremely whacko dreams and/or hallucinations due to medication or something... I'm not being allowed to quit my meds (at least not yet...), and I was kinda hoping maybe someone had a way of coping outside quitting, because i've been threatened that if i don't take my meds faithfully, i'll b wached when it's time to take them, and my mom's too observant for me to find a way around that if she decides it's necessary...

      Opinions, anyone?

As for illegal drugs, there's been tons of topics about 'em. The end result: Marijuana and a few other drugs SEVERELY impair recall. There's a few that provide more vivid, weird dreams, but they've got so many side effects it's not worth going into.

But it seems that you're bringing up legal drugs (meds in specific) and their effect on dreams. First of all, what medicines are you on/why are you on them?

I don't know if it's normal or even if you guys have mentioned this in another thread but, in my case I tend to have uneasy dreams when I drink... not really nightmares but dreams where I'm constantly in unconfortable situations and replaying moments of my life that I try to forget. I blame it on the booze, but now that the use of drugs is mentioned, and alchohol being considered as one I was just wondering if someone have had this sort of experience...

Parents are a royal pain in the arse, I can imagine finding it difficult, esp. at that time when your parents are forcing you to take the drugs while in the same room, that pressure is hard to overcome, and reality distorts your free will and reality esp. when you don’t have a chose in the matter.

The best thing i can recommend is to show your parents that you react better when your not taking the medication and show them that the drugs just do you harm (i.e. make you moody). When i was taking medication, i was moody and really dysfunctional, but when i stopped taking the tablets (i managed to sort it out with my mum as an experiment) they both said how my behavior had changed for the better without the drugs, the best thing to do it to show them.

I personally hate medication, i had a bad episode when I split from this girl and all everyone was doing was popping pills in me, I couldn’t give a shit at the moment so i didn’t do anything about it, but they seem to think that’s the answer to all life’s questions and trouble "Give them another pill, make them feel better" make them feel nothing more like. Hope you get it sorted out mate.

I used to see freaky things will on medication, like going forwards and backwards at the same time, it wasnt that bad casue i managed to contain it, but it makes you schizo

Really depends on what your taking and why. If your going to die or something if you don't take them, then you should take them. There are normally a few different drugs for the same thing. If you are having a problem with one, some times you can switch to another, which might not have the bad side effects.
