      am i a natural?

hmmmm. maybe i'm sort of a natural?
I dunno. i started wondering that this morning..
i had another LD (my second) after like a month between my first and second ones.
but.. the thing is.. neither was by RC, or WILD or anything.. they were both like.. wait a minute!!!! This doesn't work in real life!

i dunno. i'm thinking, i might just be a natural, and never knew it since i always forgot my dreams.
      what do you think?

Sorry to say, but I seriously doubt it pyrhho
Naturals are people who experience LDs (which includes recalling them) without any intention or need to learn.

      If you've only had 2 - and you consciously wanted them - then I don't think you're a natural

The good news is that you're a very fast learner at LD's
Being a natural isn't everything - if you can self-learn at a good rate, then you can often be a lot better off than them

(BTW, Im a borderline natural, as I had a few lucid nightmares as a child. Did it help me? Not that much, I still needed to re-learn how to induce them the hard way )

      awww dang. lol.

ah ok. see i was a little unclear on the whole "natural" definition. i thought it was where you don't do RCs or any of that stuff, you just sorta know.

      thanks for the info.

      No problem
Someone correct me if I'm wrong of course - this is just my understanding of it...

I agree with you Placebo.....By no means I am as well versed in the 'art' as others here, but I would say that your classification is correct. My dreams began as lucid nightmares when I was a kid, and then I learned to take control. Up until the last few years I never knew there was acutally a name for what I had been doing.

However, from conversing and reading this forum I realized that being lucid is something that can be develped and am working improving the abilites that I posses. Safe to say, I am semi natural since I had a foundation for LD and am growing it with knowlege provided by the more practiced.

I would think a true natural would have full blown all out and total command of every aspec of LD, ie: dream control, dream clarity, dream recall etc.....I think everyone who has some natural ability wants to improve some area of LDing.....I know I do.

see in America when someone tries a new sport or something and picks it up real well, someone might say to them:

      "You're a natural!"

      there.

      mmm.. 'semi natural'
I guess I was one of those

I wouldn't go so far as to say that a full blown natural needs 100% dream control, but they at least need to have a lot of consistently occuring lucid dreams without any effort at all.
But by and large, when that happens, the person learns control pretty quick.

Like I said, not being a full blown natural isn't the end of the world. Would sure help... dammit..
