My First Lucid Dream (That didn't last very long...)

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to the forums but a while back I saw the site and tried to Lucid Dream (and failed) so I gave up for a few months then came back and tried again, after a couple of nights of trying to lucid dream, I signed up to the forums. After another couple of nights I continued to fail, but then I decided to try to use Sild... (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=25455)

BAM, second night I had my first taste of Lucid Dreaming. (Even though it wasn't a very good taste.) Although I've managed to laugh at it now. Here's my story...

First thing I remember I was in a very weird house, one wall was made of rough rock. (Kind of like they built it against a cliff but forgot to add the fourth wall.) There was a little alcove near the floor in the room I was in so I went inside and curled up into a ball. (?) Then my cousin walked into the room and started begging me for something. So I told him that I would do what he wanted. (Which I somehow knew was a Sex mod for Fallout 3 ) I even told him I'd make it myself. So I went off to make the slightly disturbing pixel humping modification. For some reason I had to go to 7/11 to do that though. There was a 16/17 year old Korean Guy. (I couldn't really tell, but I'm pretty sure he was Korean.) I somehow knew he was my friend (I've never seen him in my life). We talked for a minute or two and I told him to wait where he was. I walked into the 7/11 and went into an elevator (An elevator in a 7/11?). It took it down into an Aperture Science Test Chamber. (Think Portal) So I walked through it to the next elevator. (Without even using the portal gun ) The elevator brought me to a hallway. I walked into it and reached out for the door, and tilted my head towards the window to see where I was. It looked like I was very high up over a city at night, so I started to look back at the door when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye...

My hand had 6 fingers! I yelled "I'm dreaming! I did it!" everything suddenly seemed much clearer! So I opened up the door, still looking halfway towards the window and realized something... My head, why can't I turn my head? I started struggling to turn my head in the right direction but I couldn't. Now things got even worse, I felt something around my neck and it was a little hard to breathe. Every breath I took I could feel hot air just bounce right back to my face. (Or at least from the left side, I was fine on my right.) I sighed and walked into the next room. I figured I could find a DC character here and ask them if they knew how I could move my head. The hallway was too dark though, and the door closed behind me. I imagined light coming out of my hand and I heard the click of a flashlight. My hand was lighting up the wall opposite me, a perfect circle of light. And that click, it sounded too familiar. (Half Life 2, I think I played too much Valve that day.) After I started walking I woke up.

It may have been the fact it had already been a pretty long dream (I know there was stuff before the weird house, I just can't remember), it might have just been time to wake up...

Although the fact I managed to start strangling myself with my blanket may have helped end it quickly as well.

Haha, My video game playing goes "on and off" sometimes I don't feel like playing for pretty long periods of time, but then another time I'll feel like playing all day. The day I had this dream was just one of those days.

Well at least Fallout 3 didn't sneak into my dream anymore...

I think it would be kind of hard running from Feral Ghouls in a dark subway while being strangled by a blanket and not being able to turn my head.

Thanks XeL, the Aperature Science part gives me an interesting idea to try out in a lucid dream. The portal gun from Portal, I wonder if it would work how it does in the game, or if it would do something else.

If it doesn't work the way it does in the game you could probably use it to change scenes without having to spin or find a door! Just use the gun, make a portal and walk right through to wherever you intended on going.

Then again you could make your own portal gun to do that too. I'd imagine it would be less "Dangerous" than spinning around, or even finding a door somewhere. I wouldn't think there would be much of a risk of waking up at all if you can just step right through a portal. If you haven't played Portal, the portals the portal gun makes show where the other portal leads to, so if you were to (for example) walk over to the corner of a room and stand facing one of the two walls. Then you fire a portal onto one of the walls that connects at the corner, then the second one. If you look into the first portal you'd be able to see yourself from the side.

So you think of where you want to go, use a portal gun to create a portal to the area you want to go, look into the portal and see if that's where you want to go then just walk on through.

Interesting thought. I've done something similar in a lucid dream... Not with a portal gun but with a regular door XD. I told myself that when I opened that door I would be teleported to an awesome place. As soon as I did that though, the whole dream became blurry and I woke up.

Best of luck with your future dreaming.

That's kind of my point, with the door you can't actually see what's behind it. With spinning, you won't be able to see anything clearly. Although with the portal you would be able to see where you were going to walk into before you did. If it wasn't where you wanted to go you could always just try again.

It might be tricky if you have to end up making a portal gun through thought though, and possibly if you've never played Portal.

"Through thought though" lol, looks a bit redundant.

But I suppose it would be the easiest to try this if you've played portal. If I have a lucid tonight I'll have to try and remember this and try it out to see if it works.
