i think i had a lucid dream today

      hi everyone

i had a weird dream today and want to know if it was a lucid dream:

i was dreaming about some random stuff and then i had a false awakening. everything in my room was exaxtly the same as it was before i went to sleep (even the same website on my laptop). Anyway, i was lying in bed when i noticed this big shape covered in some sort of blanket moving on the floor next to my desk. This really freaked me out so i reached to turn on my lamp but i was frozen. my body wouldn't move and i couldn't speak. Then i felt myself slowly being dragged off of my bed. At this point i believed i was awake (due to the false awakening) and so was completely freaking out. when i was half dragged off the bed i suddenly thought this is a dream, this cant be happening, so i need to wake up. For some reason i was able to move my head, so i smacked it on the side of the wall and woke up. If this is a lucid dream, i thought that they normally occur in the REM stage but i had only been asleep for half an hour. Also i had no control over smacking my head on the wall but i had realised that i was dreaming.

      Thanks for reading.

I think you was experiencing hallucinogenic imagery. It happens when your in sleep paralysis which explains why you couldn't move anything. The rest is just weird.

a lucid dream is when you realize your dreaming while in a dream.

lucid dreams dont always have to be in REM sleep, considering you can have a dream while not in REM sleep

yes you was dreaming, but not lucid. If you was lucid you would of realized you were dreaming

If you didn't realize you were dreaming, you weren't lucid.

this sounds much more like an out of body experience. It would explain why it occured outside your rem cycle, and the feeling of being pushed out of bed also.
