In which way would you being on the comp effect your chances of having LD's?
I know that when I would play a certain video game a lot, i would dream of it, therefore the dream would be less vivid. I would also be haunted by the thought of the game and would have difficulty sleeping. When you're on the computer, you rarely take notice of your surroundings, thus you perform less reality check. That's all I could fien that's bad for you.

I've personally read a lot posts from people, that say they've dreamed characters or environments from computer games. And that means that their stay in front the computer only helped them have amazing lucids :P
I think it's just the way you think of it - if you think that staying a lot on a Computer will affect your lucid dreaming negative, it probably will. :P
Anyway, my advice for you is to keep trying and never give up. It will pay up in time :banana:
The use of electronics decreases vividity.
Its true computers do cause sleep trouble. But you are supposed to sleep for around 4 or so hours so the REM cycle kicks in, aren't you? By then the effects would have worn off. So no, it doesn't directly effect lucid dreams. Only sleep. If you find you have no trouble sleeping after using the computer, you should be fine.
I am immune to computer sleep issues. hahaha.

That is quite a bit. But you shouldn't worry about it. I also am on a lot of the time, and I still have dreams x)

Srsly, here on DV everyone wil lbe on the Comp or Watch the TV for an extended time. And we all Lucid Dream.
You could use this to your advantage.
Pay attention to what games you are playing before bed, then prepare yourself for those dreams.
Tell yourself that when you notice the dreamscape that is similar to your video game that you will realize you are dreaming...

Well the thing is that I never have any vividity or recall at all, so I would blame it on being on the comp 21/7
We don't all lucid dream. Only some of us.
I actually don't play games that often. I usually fuck around on the internet for most of my time. My dreams usually involve games, though.
I think something is really fucking with my progress, but I don't know what it is.
I can't concentrate on doing awareness work when I'm on the computer. This is the main reason I'm not on that much, other than to record my Lucids.
The more time I spend focused on attaining Lucidity, the more Lucids I have.
Funny how that works. :P
If you keep your mind on your dreaming, your recall should pick up. Don't let yourself get distracted. I know, sometimes easier said than done. I sometimes get distracted easily myself, and my Lucidity suffers for it too.

This is where you are now:
1. On the 'puter 92% of your waking time
2. Go to bed at 5am, wake up at 11 am.
Have you ever heard the saying: "insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results"?
Why don't you make some changes, and see if you get different results, with respect to LD?
1. Reduce your 'puter time to 72%
2. Go to bed at 3am, wake up at 9 am.
Stick with it for a week, and if you don't get any measurable results, then make another change.
Oh yeah, your current sleep schedule may adversly affect your health in the long term, because there may be a correlation between night shift work(or staying up late) and cancer:

I don't think I can reduce my computer time. And I usually sleep from 2 AM to 12 PM, just lately its been hard.
I think you just have to intregrate awareness excericeses and other LD stuff with you using the comp. And I mean if you get up to ten hours of sleep daily there souldn't really be a problem. You just have to dedicate yourself and don't get discouraged if your results have been worse latly, dryspells and stuff happens to everyone. Just remind yourself why you are doing this in the first place.

I'm on a computer pretty much my whole day. From wake up, to work, to home... I'm on a computer. Doesn't affect me at all.
But... what about when you are falling asleep? Is there something constantly on your mind? I find that it affects my ability to dream at all if I'm thinking random thoughts while falling asleep. Especially if I'm worried about something.
Or... how about a mantra. Just tell yourself as you are falling asleep that you'll have a dream tonight. Not a lucid dream. Just... a dream in general.
My own experience again... but whenever I'm having issues with recall, I always know in the morning whether I've forgotten a dream, or whether I had a random-thought dream. I don't know if anyone else gets this, but once I get a few mornings of that nagging feeling that I've HAD dreams, but I can't recall them, I bump up the mantra.
"I will remember my dreams."
I work on recall for about a week. Once that's back in working order, I bump up the mantra again.
Mostly, at this point, I work on a visualization I want. Lately, it's tied to the task of the month, because I want to complete one, damn it! Using that visualization, I imagine myself becoming lucid, and panning it out from there.

I really need vividness. That is one of my major problems. I think meditation before bed would help that. I will try it for a while.
Perhaps you just don't recall your dreams as well as you might and therefore they seem to be lacking in vividness?
I find boosting your recall helps me with vividness, but this is because I think almost all dreams are as vivid as waking life but we just don't remeber them that well. It is like childhood memories, you have a basic understandig of them and you remeber events and smells and stuff, yet they are somewhat vague cause they occured so long ago and the experience has fadded. Dreams are just harder to remeber for some reason than your waking life and therefore they seem less vivid.
Meditation could help with recall I guess but I lack experience of meditation so I don't really know.
