      Lightbulb Something to think about...

So, have you ever wondered that when you're dreaming, you're really switching to your spirit's life? And when you wake up, the dream continues while you're awake in the living world? Hence why sometimes we have continued dreams. I mean, have you ever noticed even if it's not a continued dream, YOU still have similar abilities/personalities/etc?

So, it'd be like when you're just dreaming normally, you're watching you're spirit self do everything. When you're sorta lucid, you're "living" brain can intervene and/or feel certain things. Fully lucid is when both selves combine. You have the freedom of the spirit but the brains of the living.

I don't know, it's a pretty crack crazy theory. Lol, I freaked my mom out talking about it though, 'cause she was like, "Well, wait! If that's true then how are we supposed to know which world's the real one??" and I replied, "Well, I think both are real together. A body is useless without a soul and a soul needs a vessel to eventually come back to, so I don't think either is more important than the other." -shrug- Again, major red pill/blue pill stuff. But I've been thinking about it a lot lately and so was just wondering what everyone else's take on it was?

I have no soul, I am what I am. And I love what I am - I am a Terran, a member of this planet.

I don't need to create more copies of myself or try to explain why I am special - I think just being here counts enough as it is.

I believe you have hit on something though - a dream is an indicator of your spirit. Not your soul or ethereal part of you, but your spirit. Your personality. How you behave in your dreams indicates the sum of yourself.

      Anyway, interesting concept.

Well, scientists would say that's complete nonsense, but who knows?

Scientists would be quite hard pressed to explain human conciousness without them.

Anyways, this is the wrong section SAChan. This belongs in Beyond Dreaming.

Disagree. If you'll take a look at actual studies, you won't see scientists making references to souls and spirits. Maybe during the Renaissance, but not now lawl. Your comment about what "scientists" can or cannot do is unfounded.

As a skeptic, I don't believe in a soul at all, not out of principle, but because I see no evidence for one. My brain is my personality and my personhood and it's where all my dreaming goes on.

      They don't.

But they haven't explained consciousness yet either.
