      More alert in dreams?

Alright well I have a question... Like the title says, how can I be more alert during my non-lucid dreams? Like whenever I go to sleep the next thing I know I'm waking up sand it's the morning already! So what can I do to be more alert? Because if if I can improve on that I think it will help me with dream recall and even becoming lucid. I have had 10 or so lucid dreams already but I think If I can work on this it'll help with MILDs. I also take Melatonin if that matters.. So anybody have any help? Thanks!

You make it sound like you aren't remembering your dreams? Writing in a dream journal will help that. As for increased awareness (higher chance of lucidity) you just have to think about it a lot during the day and especially as you're falling asleep (Mantras etc.)

No, I remember my dreams..usually about 1-3 per night. But I dont know whats going on while there happening, I just remember once I wake up! I guess all I can do is make RC's a habit and hopefully it'll carry over!

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I'm still having this problem! And this rate, I've realized it's going to be hard to induce lucidity though MILD/DILD because of this problem!

Like I said, I have no problem remembering my dreams! Its just like I'm totally knocked out until I wake up. One thing I'm falling asleep, next thing I'm waking up! Any hints on being more aware during dreams? Or is this how it is for everyone?
