      Unhappy Do I get enough sleep for a LD?

      Hey Guys,
      Here's the thing...I'm a student,
      On weekdays I fall asleep at about 10.30 and wake up at 5.30 and so , I sleep a total number of approximately 7...sometimes 6 hours.

      --I did not learn Lucid Dreaming properly and so I do not quite know the name of the method,but I usually Lucid Dream on the weekends...I would wake up at 4 o'clock,to go to the bathroom and then get back to bed...that's when I had my Lucid Dreams--

      My Questions are..
      1)How Can I Lucid Dream on weekdays?
      2)Is 7 Hours enough to Lucid Dream?
      ...if yes... HOW?

      You can have a lucid dream at any time of the night (I think my earliest was after about 4 hours of sleep, approximately)...

      BUT! The reason it's strongly encouraged to get 8+ hours of sleep is because the longer you sleep, the longer your REM periods become (REM is when dreaming happens).

      It gets to a point that at that 8 hours of sleep point (I think it is), the chances of you being able to have a LD double vs. the previous 7 hours you just slept.

      If you absolutely cannot get more sleep (ex. go to sleep earlier) on weekdays, you can try playing with some earlier WBTB ("wake back to bed." Get up, go to the washroom time, for most of us ).

      Your WBTB needs to coincide with the end of a REM period, so you'll have to play around with the times. The best results are between 5-6 hours after you go to sleep for the night. If that doesn't leave you with enough time to attempt a LD, you can try 4.5 hours...

      You are actually really the only one who can answer that question, simply by asking yourself another question:

      Do you regularly remember long lasting, coherent dreams, perhaps several? If you do, then 7 hours will be enough. However, if all you remember is hardly connected dream fragments, that seem almost like something you watched on TV, then chances are you are either not getting enough sleep, or you might simply need to work on dream recall.
