      Help? maybe?

alright, i did a lot of research into lucid dreaming a while ago and managed to do it twice. the first time i was listening to a "hypnosis" tape or something, and im not sure if i was dreaming at the time but i felt a sort of crack or splitting type of feeling, not painful just scarry, in my head and then feeling quite nice right before i fell into my first lucid dream. but that was a while ago...

recently however ive been having sort of panic attacks right before falling into sleep, and usually i wake my self out of it jerking and breathing deep but the other day i decided what the hell, and let it happen. i don't really know how to explain it but it seems like my body falls asleep but im not, at all. it just feels like i took way too many sedatives, and i cant make much noise if any from my mouth, my movement is sooo sluggish but possible if its not a dream. and i have sight. the first time i did it i had a pillow over my head and started to panic, reaching up, with much effort and slower than i wished, and dragged the pillow off of my head by the time it was off i snapped out of it. after that i let it happen again and had a lucid dream where i was just laying in the same spot in the same room and felt a prick at the back of my neck and though "that would suck if that were a spider" blam huge spider legs from behind my neck around my cheeks and mouth, blech. you get the point sorry for going on.

anyone have anything on your body falling asleep without you?

Sounds to me like you had sleep paralysis. That happens when your body is asleep but your mind is awake. When you're in sleep paralysis, you can hallucinate a lot of scary things, but don't worry though, its a normal thing that happens every time we go to sleep and there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of.

Sleep paralysis is actually one of the best ways to enter a lucid dream. Next time this happens to you, just stay calm, close your eyes and try to think of dream you would like to be in. It helps me to remember the last dream I had and try to re-enter it.
