I had a horrible dream where I couldn't wake up?

Just this morning at school, I went to the library and put my head down in a study cubicle. I fell asleep and began to dream. This dream soon became a lucid dream and I was in a different library. Being the lonely guy I am, I became overjoyed and tried to imagine a hot girl to manifest so I could make out with her(and have sex). But that didn't work, so I ran around looking for a mildly attractive girl to make out with. I ran over to a girl to kiss her, she then dissappeared suddenly, so I ran to another girl to kiss, making her smile.

At this point I remembered that I had to wake up soon, because I had another class scheduled. So I wiggled my toes to wake up. I did wake up but not really, I was returned to the library i was originally in but I couldn't move, still. I still had my head down, and after say 3-4 minutes I was able to move and to test that if I was really awake I knock over a cubicle(which is impossible) I tried to wake up again. I am taken to the same position I was before only I really could not move.

I then began to breathe hard and screamed for someone to wake me up. I actually remember trying to say "wake me up" so that someone near by could hear me. I then suddenly awake sort of winded and with a minor headache. It was a scary momment. Why and how could this happen? I also wonder I anyone heard my pleas for help, could anyone have heard? And has this ever happen to any of you?

I have not had any dreams where i couldnt wake up before, but i know for a fact that you would not have to be scared because you would wake up eventually.

Usually my problem is that i wake up too FAST.

Well part of the reason I wanted to wake up was because I didn't want to ne late for my next class, hehe.

But this has happened to me before. I would get sort of paralyzed and struggle to wake up because of how uncomfortable it is especially when I couldn't do whatever I wanted in the dream. It's kind of scary

      A true man's-brain process.

As for the rest, sounds like false awakenings and sleep paralysis. The latter of which is known to be a scary experience the first few times around. Even those who are familiar with it tend to get uncomfortable with SP.

It may be possible your conscious thought to state "wake me up" allowed you to speak it and get someones attention, however its far more likely that the strength of the desire to wake up forced you to do so.

Brain works funny in our dreams sometimes.
