      I wonder.

I wonder if you can focus pain into another part of your body than where it is being experienced. for example, if you had a headache, you could move the pain into your hand or something. hmm I dunno, what do you think?

You know what a while ago I was thinking the exact thame thing. Yea, I think it is possible. But do you mean in reality or in dreams? I think it may be possible in both given the concentration.

Anyone know how this would be done?

I'm not sure, but you might want to look into acupuncture and how it works. Sticking pins in one area of the body to help heal a totally different part of the body sounds like it's in the ballpark of what you're wondering about.

Hmm I dunno. I've not actually done anything like that, and I would not get into accupuncture. It should be possible in dreams, though.

I know if you hurt your elbow and then stub your toe the toe will hurt and the elbow won't seem so bad anymore. But that's about it.

Or, if you break your leg, break your face, and the leg won't seem so bad anymore.

Reducing or stopping pain with will is possible to some degree, I can do it with headaches in rl but it requires you to be concentrating on it to the extent you can’t really do anything else.

If I had the mental fortitued to be able to make my mind percieve that the pain was somewhere else, I would just percieve it not to exist at all.
I think your mind can be persuaded to believe anything. Or do I??? Yes. No Maybe.

I agree with Howetzer. If you can control pain, why just move it? Make it go away. Like Turkeh, I can alleviate minor headaches fairly well, but I have to keep concentrating on it. As soon as my attention drifts somewhere else, *bam* headache is back. That's when I grab the 3 ibuprofen.

Guidesoft: keep your random, dipshit comments OUT of my threads. maybe some people tolerate it, but not me. this isn't senseless banter, so shut the fuck up unless you want to say something remotely related to the topic.

Pain is the sensation formed by respective areas of nerves that are being externally overstimulated.

Now it's very much possible to disconnect oneself from the pain, Tibetan Buddhists show off that capability frequently, but to move it to one point or another doesn't seem feasible and would really have no point.
