Sleep Paralysis disorder, now a usefull cue.

Lucid Dreaming is a new area for me, and also a new angle/a god send really to a sleep disorder that I have and untill now been afraid off since I can remember.
Through talks with nerologists, I'm aware there are many others that suffer from sleep paralysis disorder, but there are also many others who suffer yet, have no idea there is an explaination to what is going on.

Sleep paralysis itself is a not the disorder as this is a natural ocurance where a chemical from our body/brain is released during REM sleep. It's purpose is to paralyse our body to prevent us acting out our dreams which could result in indjury to our self, and not to forget the innocent partner in bed beside you.
The Disorder is in fact being aware that you are paralysed, this in turn causes many other bizare and daunting experiences, For example, if this occurs during the waking transition, you may find yourself paralysed yet still dreaming and possibly as your waking up your eyes are open bringing your dream into your bedroom. I belive this may account for some who belive they are going through the motions of say an alien abduction experience, with the addition of being unable to move (scary).
Basicaly through Paradolia (pareidolia being the way our brain makes sense of any stimulus we undergo) we naturaly look for the quickest explaination to answer our question, in this case, Why can't I move. you may have heard of people seeing a devil sitting on their chest preventing them from breathing.

My point being that, as soon as this disorder was given an explaination, a name, the experience became much different. Now that I am aware that I can't move, and for a perfectly good reason, that fear and concern has ended somewhat now that I go with it as aposed to fight against it. This in turn has also lead me to realise that when this sensation begins, I am momentaraly about to begin dreaming.
Trying to sustain that awarness is not easy, but I belive that its going to be usefull to be given a cue.
Every other night my dreams are becoming more and more interesting, and at long last I cant wait to go back to sleep.

Ewwwww...sleep paralysis disorder a.k.a. night terrors...

I especially love it when I'm already dreaming and it slips into a night terror...like last night when I was being eaten alive by evil wolves....As soon as I couldn' move, tho, I realized I was dreaming and began struggling to come fully awake...it was an odd sensation...I felt the pain from the teeth and everything....it was creepy

Well, it ceases to be AS creepy when you realize it's a dream, but I'm beginning to wonder about myself...last night I dreamed that I got run through by my best friend...and I even felt the sword going down through my shoulder

I dont think i've welcomed all 3 of you...SO WELCOME!!!

I was wondering, if our brain paralyzes us so we cant act out our dreams during REM sleep, then what would explain SLEEP WALKING?

      just a quick question!

      Welcome people!

Lowercase, Maybe a lack of the chemicle? Some kind of chemicle imbalance in the body maybe?

Maybe, or their body kind of rejects part of the chemical, thinking its foreign?
