Waking Life

Ok so I finally got around to watching Waking Life and i am confused. I mean i caught alot of what the characters were saying but what is the main idea of the movie? What were the creators trying to say?

The movie is supposed to flow like a dream. I don't think its supposed to make sense. Don't think too hard about it.

i don't think there is a 'main idea', but just a variety of ideas and perspectives. The director Richard Linklater has done a few films in this style (not the rotoscoping, just lots of conversation and not much plot).
