Just want to know how different people become lucid.

I'm working on becoming lucid, and am getting 3-5 different dreams down on paper after every night without even waking before morning. My dream recall is extremely detailed, but I can't seem to realize that I'm dreaming. I am very imaginitive and think even in real life how cool "this" and "that" would be. This probably makes me immune to the shock that comes from seeing some of the things I dream about. Just wondering what works for the more experienced LDers here and maybe I could apply some of your advice to my dreams.

Im exactly like you in regards to the thinking about impossible things in real life. "daydream" right? Well there's plently of ways. you could try the "take a week or two break" one or try MILD or WILD, or the WBTB or take melotonin, or do reality checks, dream journal, find your dream sign, trying hypnosis..i could go on and i dont really have time to explain ALL of them..which one interests you the most? perhaps i could do mini-summaries or something

In the past couple of months I've been hit several times with option #2 in dreams. I'm not sure what triggers it but it's helping me out anyway. I still miss my dreamsigns even when I see them, so far.

I know this is an old thread, but anyway...

Most often, I just suddenly realize that I'm dreaming. I never remember to do reality checks unless I'm already at least at a low level of lucidity, and I haven't found any reliable dreamsigns yet -- though I've gotten lazy about my journaling again and my recall has suffered badly.

That happens to me allthe time... i always try to find a dreamsign, but all i do is end up waking up and thinking "okay that dream was ridiculous, yet how could i have forgotten to notice ANYTHING out of place?!" And there's theother times when "wait... a DREAM!" just pops into my head for no reason. That's why i find it hard to follow any type of technique, although i still keep trying...

Oh yeah, I wonder about that too. How can I not see that things are "weird". I guess a lot of our reasoning centers are shut off while we sleep, because we tend to do stupid things while we dream anyway.

All 3 apply for me actually, more often though its due to a dream sign.
