      Dreaming while napping

Hello again havent been here for awhile....anyways what I want to ask this forum for its insight on
my dreaming while napping. I guess you can say i have a regularly sleeping habit; I work 9-5 and sleep an average of 7 hours +/- 1 hour but the intresting part is after work I take a nap as I usually do before dinner which lasts somewhere between 30min to 1 hour and in that time i have "intense" non-lucid drems (havent quite got the hang of lucidity yet). So intense sometimes I feel like I literrally cannot do anything. For example one dream I had, which was brief, but very intense was a "thing" laughing like one of those menacing laughs in the movies which got progressively
louder I dont remember seeing anything in that one just black but it got so umbearable i woke up breathing heavily. And some others which I fail to recollect fully but I remember being unable to move; like im wearing a 10 tonne weighted vest that stops me from moving freely.
what intrests me the most is how I am getting into R.E.M. sleep (am I going in to R.E.M right?) with just
      .5-1 hour of sleep

Ok Buscuits I think what you are doing is having hallucinations while in Sleep Paralysis. Also If you get enough sleep in the other phases during the night in naps you will primarily be in REM sleep. If i recall correctly REM sleep is the kind that makes you feel rested so if you have been working you are likely to enter REM sleep.

I have also wondered about dreaming and napping. Like you stated Bisquit, there does seem to have more sleep paralysis for me during naps than at regular bedtime. I didn't realize that you could fall into REM sleep in such a short time. Thanks for the post!
