Finding it hard to stay dedicated/motivated O_o

At first I was all hardcore about it and made myself sleep more and all of that great stuff, but quite frankly I am having less and less motivation to try to LD! My dream recall is getting worse (I am getting less sleep though... that is probably it....) but also, I am totally forgetting to do "reality tests" throughout the day.

      Anyway... any tips are appreciated.

Don't sweat it. As I've said before, my motivation/ability to LD seems to go in cycles, and it's definitely related to how much sleep I'm getting and how much stress I'm having in real life. For the past couple of weeks, my stress level has been pretty high, and I haven't had much motivation at all -- therefore I've had terrible recall and no LDs. But I'm not worried about it. I know that when things settle down, I'll get back to it again.

I wonder if simply posting on here helped... This morning I woke up 2 hours early despite my already getting only 7 hours of sleep, and I remembered a great amount of detail about my dream! I'll try to make a journal entry later. Lol, it was about this woman that had a weird 3rd nipple right in the middle of her sternum, and she was talking to that guy "Ti" from extreme home make-over about getting it removed. Man, where does my mind come up with this stuff? O_o.. I haven't watched that show in weeks, and it's not like I've been contemplating breasts/nipples lately.

O_o, that was a little odd....

Anyway, sometimes it is difficult to remain motivated. I, like tygrhawk and others here, slack off on occasion. It is all a part of keeping things in balance. It is not helpful when you don't try, but it is also not helpful if you become too obsessed.

Just keep trying, but don't stress out too much about it, afterall, sleep is useful for more things than having lucid dreams =P.

I think anyone who isn't a natural at lucid dreaming has felt what you're feeling.. I know I have. And it's ok to feel that way and to take a break from "trying" if you need/want to.

I know there have been many times when I've hit a dry spell and said to myself "ok, I give up!".. and then I'll have one of my rare DILDs or I'll WILD without trying to and I'm hooked all over again.

As others have said.. it's best to relax and try not to worry about it.. some things just won't be forced and I've learned that LDing is one of them.
