Haven't seen any around myself but it is possible that aliens have visited Earth in the past. In fact, not so long ago in 1947, a supposed UFO crash landed in Roswell, New Mexico. In any case, even if there were aliens around, the general public wouldn't be informed about them.
If Obama knew about UFO's he would tell everyone and reveal the evidence and then get a second noble peace prize.
I do not believe in anything, so I do not believe that aliens exist.
I also do not believe that they don't.
Mathematically speaking, they most likely do exist, especially if you forget about limiting the type of life to "humanoid" and accept that alien life may not be limited to what we know is the definition of life. There may be four or five dimensional beings, beings that stretch out across the cosmos, beings that are not carbon based, or sentient life that is microscopic.
What if galaxies were satient beings?
What if we were the ones who are truly microscopic?
I believe there is an abundance of life in the universe, but would we actually be able to recognize another type of lifeform if we came across it?
I have considered this possibility, and it is a large part of the mental model of the universe that makes sense to me. Some would call it a "spiritual belief" but I don't "believe" anything, and I don't believe that there is a difference between the spiritual realm and the physical realm.
This is also part of my idea of the nature of the universe. Perhaps we are part of a much larger (perhaps more significant, powerful, or knowledgeable and perhaps not) being. Perhaps size is merely another dimension, or direction in space/time. Perhaps there is no such thing as size, and that which occurs at the microcosmic level, and that which occurs at the supercosmic level are one and the same.
Unless the life was carbon based, similar in size, and three dimensional, I do not think we would.
I think there are many open minded individuals on earth, but we as a race are still pretty close minded which makes us blind to the bigger picture of things.(Not exactly sure how this fits into this convo but i just thought i'd share this opinion)
Hypothetical biochemistry are forms of biochemistry speculated to be scientifically viable but thus far have not been proven to exist. Living beings on earth commonly have carbon as their primary physiological constituent and metabolic functions, water as solvent and R/DNA to control their form, scientists have already wondered whether undiscovered lifeforms could exist that differs radically from this. Such examples may include: Silicon, nitrogen or phosphorus, arsenic, selenium or tellurium biochemistry and a variety of pretty mind boggling biological configurations: creatures that use chlorine as the key component in respiration instead of oxygen, and non-water solvents such as ammonia or methane. Probably the most confusing biochemistry would be one with differing chirality of its molecules, as Earth-based lifeforms would be incompatible with organisms using opposite chirality to our own, making the study extremely tedious and difficult.
Of course, all of this is pure speculation and none of it is actually concrete (I'd be suprised if it is because that would be we have found evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial beings). The point is, scientists are now more open-minded and widening our search parameters in order to maximise our chances of finding and possibly comprehending what we find.
This is nothing new. I think the more interesting question that sloth poses is whether or not we would be able to recognize something like a 4th dimensional being, or something that is composed merely of energy or matter we are not yet capable of recognizing, rather than just differing in chemical composition than ourselves.
I've had a close encounter with an alien being. Quite possibly sentient. This alien was a Mantis-like insect. Only of human size. Similar to terrestial Praying Mantis's but with machine-like features. It has 2 big eyes. It has a broader perception than us and it can see much sharper colours. It can see multiple layers of grey tints in the dark where we would only see shadows. They have very high vibrational energy. The intensity in which they experience every moment of life is much stronger than our daily consiousness. Adrenaline runs high, and that's probably what they like. I think their adrenaline junkies in a way.
I never recall communicating with this but i do remember it taking over my body and i was observing it look around and move, it moved very machine-like. In this way it made me feel like the thing and it was extremely intense.Pure power ran trough me like high voltage of vibrations ran trough my body. The thing was very excited to be here. The experience was too intense for me to be frightening at all. It was accompanied with a very loud buzz sound . The sound of the forest terrence describes in his audiobook True Hallucinations. He also mentions the Mantis is an inhibitor of "the invisible landscape". Which i don't know much about since i haven't read that book yet.
If anyone knows more about the alien mantis let me know. I've already found a great load of information about this archetype and i'm willing to bet they are gonna play a big role in the near future.
I'm not sure where the mantis comes from. It could very well be a well-evolved insect species on another planet. It could be from another dimension. Or maybe even the imagination of an actual praying-mantis. I'm not entirely sure this thing was sentient but it did show signs of it. And so did they in other people's encounters with them.
Haha, no i don't plan on doing any crimes. and i won't plead insanity to get a short route out if it comes to that. lying about that makes things confusig.
I post this stuff for others to see if they can relate to it and compare our experiences to get a broader insight on what it is that actually happened. This thread is about aliens and since what i felt i can only relate to how an alien could feel. In the extraterrestial sort of way. It's very possible that an insect could evolve beyond what we experience. In fact what i felt both physically and mentally with such intensity screamed it was a more primal animal instinct way of being but with such clarity and the power i felt i can only describe as life pouring out of you in hundredfold.
Whatever it was when you think of a planet that sustains life and allowed insects to evolve into large creatures. If there aren't humans there to mess things up they would probably be a bit like us in intelligence and clarity but their environment asks for an intense surival mode and their intelligence is occupied on that. I reckon adrenaline is felt much stronger there. And possibly it's a source of joy and power to love this lifestyle and thus be at peace with what you are. Not like us as you can see in society not everyone is happy with the situation they find themselves in. And life becomes a dull pointless activity.
That last Picture with Adam , Eve and the space ship is soo unbelievably beautiful ....
I don't even care whether or not this experience was real or whether or not you're being honest!
Awesome details and really inspirational!
I've been working on an alien insect story thats been stuck in my head (since 2008!!). I've struggled so much capturing these alien insects I see in my minds eye because I can't capture the sound with my drawing! The sound! That humming, its like half of who they are. I imagined that these were intelligent insect beings, but they had no need for our concepts of technology. The technology that made them an evolutionary success is their body. Such as their ability to create that humming sound accompanied by light. In my story, it isn't just how they communicate. Its more than that. Through the humming they entrance others to think and feel as they think and feel, maintaining a hive order despite there being various species, while also experiencing immense bliss.
If the average human were to suddenly drop on by and visit the insect beings they would just see animals going about their wild lives. You have to hear or feel the humming to understand the mind behind those blinkless eyes. Anyways......thanks! I've had so much trouble explaining what I've been trying to draw.
so average people watch soap opera on the tv, then turn their life into it
willingly consume substance, that shorten their lifespans and are proud of it
are obsessed with sex (check google`s search ratings), but willingly surpress it and start killing each other out of frustration, like that nutcase from Norway
better question: would someone from another planet even want to land here???
hint: if you can manipulate energy and matter, and travel faster then light, you can create a probe, that can cloak itself, making it undetectable to our level of technology, so most likely we are watched and it`s like Animal Planet to them, so if they want to have an evil laugh, they go "let`s see what`s new on earth?" and turn on their version of tv
Spock told me :P

Thanks , Ur too kind ^^. Sounds like a really interesting story. I've always been intrigued by the synchronisity in which some insects move around in. I've never been able to figure it out. And please. i'd love to see more of ur drawings when you want to share it with us! :)
found some articles for you about the stuff
